I also wanted to buy a camera to shoot some nice travel videos. I ended up spending around 5k on my camera, lenses and other gear, which was totally not my intention to spend that much

Man people do what you love who cares about other people and Insta!!! 1.Learn the basics of photography.... 2. Study the photography greats 3. Less is always more use some of that money you would spend on a drone/ or extra primes take a class or use the money to go on a trip to take that one photo that suppose to make it worth it!!! Use photography to better yourself and your mental health !!!

My second lens was a 50mm lens that randomly ended up sitting in a lost & found bin at my work place for about a year. Coincidentally, it was the lens I was looking for. It’s been my go to ever since.

I'm working on being a photographer, currently a design student because of limited options. My favorites as far as hobbies go are landscape and wildlife. I also enjoy taking some nice photos of my cats with my phone and editing in lightroom. Still want to get a DSLR but I need research and money.

It’s right ! But you can buy less expensive gear like older canon 5D 1 or 2. Or an older fujifilm. You can make crazy works with older camera 😊

_Photography,_ best advice is.. • • • Buy used gear only • • • Here are the 'mm' ranges can be covered but not exact models: 1). Wide Angle Zoom 10-28mm 2). Standard Prime 35-58mm 3). Telephoto 70-600mm

Everything's expensive when you invest into something. I'm a music artist and I started off with a $20 mic and a $200 laptop, now my entire music rig costs over $6000. And investing in my music promotion cost way more since I started. Nothing's easy, gotta build from ground up.

to be fair you can say the same with all other creative hobbies/works. how about drawing? why would you buy that ‘fancy’ ‘vintage’ sketchbook with charcoal pencil with copic markers on top? wouldn’t a 2B pencil and a HVS be more than enough? and why even _strive_ to buy more pen and pencils?

It is the cheapest hobby to get started in. The camera phone is the start. Books Movies Music and Photos all can be self published and easy to start.

You need a shitload of money, time and passion to keep buying stuff, taking the extra effort to carry the gear everywhere and to photoshop every single picture. If you’re into it do it! It will pay off in the end. If not, don’t go near those cameras, you’ll regret it and most likely sell them at a lower price.

There’s definitely some truth here.. I’m in my early twenties and have been shooting for over 10 years.. granted I haven’t been taking it seriously until the past 2-3; but man when you nail those hero shots, nothing else matters. Could care less what the world thinks, do it for you!

Just like water finds it's own level, your interest and participation in photography will level out between your interest level, skill level, and financial level. Just do a little research and make the best purchase for you, even if it is just a Galaxy smartphone. Doesn't have to be the Galaxy S23. And it could even be an iPhone.

The first three things are literally happening to me right now. I got a canon eos 1500d in a kit with the 18-55mm lens, then I bought a prime 50mm lens, then I bought a 55-250mm IS STM lens. Now I wanna shoot film because I love the grain and colour. 😮😮😮

It only gets as expensive as you let it be! As much as I love gear and do agree the starting budget for new recent gear is quite expensive... It doesn't have to be more than that. You can also buy used gear or older cameras that work just fine! A lot of people seem to get this misleading idea that they need every piece of kit to get amazing pictures

I travel alot and there has been many 3 or 4 times when i see the sun rays coming down from a cloudy day and the sun trying to burst its rays right threw. Sadly no camera in sight to get this legendary photo lol

You can do amazing photography at a reasonable price. Stay away from new. Stick with reputable resellers. Learn how to be alone. learn how to manage your time. learn to see. learn to manage your money. And yes. it is worth it.

I am finding some nice 10 year old bridge cameras that have not been used because people bought them with good intentions and then just used their phones and never took the time to learn how to use a camera. Last week I got a Nikon P530 in the box for one Benjamin.

People underestimate the price of photography, a cheap lense is usually $80 minimum. Used. And a cheap, acceptable, dslr is $200. A great dslr is $600-$3000+, and a great lense is $200-$2000+, its insane
