There are many ways to Fertilize your garden and the one I chose was definitely the lazy way and the wrong way. Mistakes are something I do best when it comes to gardening, no need to sugar coat it and no need for lies. You would be surprise to know that this type of mistakes are being done by professionals on a daily basis, they are just not showing them to you. I have a different approach, where there is mistakes, there's also a chance for learning and I sure learned my lesson here. Come join me and watch me fail miserably Lol. Stay Nutty! ✌🏻🍁🥜

Thanks, those are for my wife and step daughter. Want them to feel welcome in the garden. I will be getting more for them as time goes by.

I used it as it comes from lowes. I didn’t add any

You did not mention the composition of your fertilizer, is it NPK 20-20-20? Or just nitrogen?

The composition of All Purpose Miracle gro is 24-8-16 which is a 3-1-2 ratio and I recommend it at a reduced rate for Japanese Maples and Conifers.

High N is probably derived from Urea. Aren't you worried about root burning issue for newly potted or not established plants? What is your thought on using a liquid fertilizer that promotes root growth and is heavier on P and K, and light on N?

I personally do not use any fertilizer that is High on P. I have had bad experiences in the past. I try to stay in the ratios of 3-1-2

Be careful with this product, it would kill all the micro organisms and any other life present inside the soil, it would also fry the newly developed roots (This is the general opinion if you ask any business dedicated to lawn and plant care). I like to use the blue powder disolved in water only to fill the bottom of the seeding trays (before the roots are able to reach it).

I have been using it since I was like 12 with my grandmother with absolutely no problems, im 42 now. If you look at the ingredients in Miracle gro you will find around 0 ingredients that will harm soil microbes, in fact, they all benefit them. Fact is that when you feed your plants you aren’t actually feeding them, you are feeding the micro organisms in the soil that breaks down the nutrients into smaller molecules until they reach the final form and it’s able to be absorbed by the plant’s root system. Now if you over apply it, it will become a problem but then again if you over drink water it can kill you and you need water to survive.

I don’t dispute the fact it would fertilize efficiently, but in my experience (Maybe because of me being in Sub Tropical humid weather and due to the type of soil / pot size used etc), it may have adverse results. I did too learned to use it from my mother and her fruit tree farm, it was only until I got into bonsai that I was harshly criticized for using it…. Since then, and for the past 14 years, I only use BioGold or Dr. Earth (These are in pelletized presentación though).
