Yeah, when they said it was 30 years since Auradon was built and then said Chad was in college, I was like but wouldn't he be like 26 if it's ten years since the first movie...then I remembered...it's Chad. He probably had to redo Grade 12 several times before moving on to college 😅🤷

They actually don't flesh out his character very well in the movies, so who really knows what he's like 🤷 In fact, in a lot of fanfics (including one of my own) he's actually a secret genius who just pretends to be vacant for one reason or another. 🤣

They didn’t recast the Descendants. Uma is the same actress. Dove Cameron, Sofia Carson, and others just aren’t returning because their characters have graduated HS and the actors moved on since Descendants 3 in 2019. I’m going to watch the new movie for first time tonight w my best friend

Just want to let you know Uma isn’t a villain anymore as in descendants 3 Uma and the Original crew members became friends after there fight in the 2nd movie,they became friends in the 3rd movie because they needed help against another villain but some parts in the 3rd movie Uma and Mal one of the characters , they argued some parts of the movie so they then forgiven each other and became friends as same for the rest of the cast.

Yes, definitely watch the previous three films! Also check out Descendents: A Royal Wedding which takes place between the third and the fourth movie. Also, I like to recommend that you check out Disney’s Roger and Hammerstein’s Cinderella 1997 as the actors who played the roles Queen Cinderella and King Charming, are reprising these roles. Plus you’ll enjoy the music as well. 🍎🐙🔥♥️

You can watch Rise of Red first. It's a different story than the first 3 movies, so it can stand on its own. You just have to understand the premise of the original 3 movies being about the children of villains being given a second chance and you can fill in the blanks with knowing that. Well, except for Uma. You're not gonna know Uma's story if you watch Rise of Red first. But no matter what you decide, definitely watch all of the movies eventually! They're so good! "I don't wanna live my life ruled by some queen! Look into my eyes, see the fire in me!" Love that line!

The production value of this movie is definitely higher than the first 3. I wished Brandy and Rita had gotten more screen time. Also if the VKs from the Isle of the Lost were the ones who pulled the prank, why didn’t the Queen of Hearts get her revenge against them?

i think the implication seems to be none of the students at the dance seemed to care or smthn (tbh they didnt go deeper in2 this aspect of the narrative) and thats why shes pissed and throwing a coup against aurodon, it also seems that bc of the changes to Isle of the Lost she may not be able to, then Uma is Ulyana's niece (so that is an aspect), Ella seems to not have stood by her (thus that) and Maleficent being defeated already is probably smthn shes aware of.

Bridget mentioned in passing that her only friend was 'Ella. She baked treats basically trying to "buy" friendship from the rest of the school. The prank would have turned her into the butt of the joke at Crowncoming, causing her to lash out at them as well. There's also a decent likelihood that Crowncoming is being set up as the new location for Cinderella's ball, which would have 'Ella, Bridget's only friend, a little preoccupied either with Charming or with getting home before midnight.

Just as a heads up when you watch the movie, it ends in a strange area. The script photo we got a while back said "Part 1" so there is a part 2 coming and we suspect itll be out in the fall. and yeah no, we dont question the red queen. Her whole shtick is shouting "Off with their head" shell kill the citizens with no hesitation lol As for order, Uma catches you up about what happened in the previous movies at the beginning of Rise of Red. So you can watch Rise of Red first or as a standalone if you wanted, the only reoccurring characters are Uma and Fairy Godmother. The rest of the actors didn't want to participate after Cameron passed. Which is why theres a whole different director too.

Alice in Wonderland is an acid trip, but the queen of hearts in that is ruthless. It is very much, you touch even just her freshly painted flowers and it's off with your head. Red cut the red flowers (her mom's thing) and threw paint at the picture of her mom. She get caught, it will be off with everyone's heads as soon as her mom sees. She's a rebel but she's this close to being the Headless Horseman.

You can watch it without watching the first three because it mostly focuses on the new characters, but Uma is a character you need to get to know because this isn't a different universe or anything. It's a direct continuation of the franchise. Also Uma hasn't been recast, it's still China Anne McClain

I do have to say I expected more of Rise of Red. It kinda felt like they were going in one direction at the beginning of the movie and then halfway they either ran out of money or time and just cut it short because so many things are left unsolved and it feels like the end is supposed to go a different route. I don't wanna spoil it, but I was convinced halfway thru that there would be a plot twist that was teased and never happened. Having said that, the chemistry between the characters was actually pretty good, the fx were great and half of the songs hit hard (I didn't particularly care much for Uliana's song or Rita Ora's one unfortunately, how can you bring a powerhouse like Rita and not have her sing a full song with a melody that showcases her voice???) Anyway you should still watch all four because the trilogy is still worth it and the fourth isn't half bad either

I think it's set after the Original Trilogy. Dove Cameron didn't want to continue the Original Series, on account of the Death of Cameron Boyce, who played Carlos in the Original series.
