Enjoy the complete creation of "Cryptic Heuristic", an 18"x 36" acrylic painting on canvas, from the acrylic pour dirty cup on a cake turntable to the final detailed hand painted painting! 17 hours of work in total.
I mix my own colors so I can't tell you their names. My paint is mixed with floetrol (1:2) and no silicone was used as usual. I used a blow dryer to help spread the paint at the bottom and then used the water spray technique to create mountains. (Check out my playlist "Water spray technique for other examples). I used Posca paint pens to add fine details to the painting.

My mind just exploded! Every single part of this video is inspiring. The stop motion video layering the paint into the cup, the color palette, the intricate 3D technical elements and creativity, even the use of Moonlight Sonata in your music selection. I’m so awed I cannot speak!!! I’ve been painting for 30 yrs Classically , and have retired paint brushes. I found this fluid painting, so I Got my paints again. It’s been about a year that I’ve been watching u tube and Working fluidly. There is great Freedom without structure! You amaze every sense I have as an artist and a human being. I absolutely loved the stop motion in the beginning. Another masterpiece. There have only ever been 2 artists I've wanted to own originals from and strive to be like as an artist... Nick Bantock and you. No other artists have succeeded in making my soul soar every time I look at their work. I can't tell you how much your work is appreciated. If I were able to... Elyse, For quite some time I've been a huge fan of your pours, I really envy them. Watching the transformation of this second picture was nothing short of Spectacular! You show tremendous imagination, by your embellishments and delivery. To think that some of your pours spark you to create far beyond a pour is mind blowing! Thank you for showing me rules and concepts for shading in paint, which I never learned. This is why I chose to try paint pouring, because it is much less intimidating than using a brush!
