This is the reason why he is the goat. If you wanted to win so badly there’s a price to pay and the “price” they called him a horrible teammate an a**hole and selfish player. You wouldn’t see this in today’s nba where you gotta be an a**hole player to wake or motivate your mf team up to strive up and win (besides kobe) that’s the hard way to win. Every piece on his team jordan make them work even the 2nd and 3rd string in the team. You can tell to his eyes when he said “ if you dont want to play that way? Then don’t play that way” that he has a beef with his teammates about getting the work done and win. As a leader on his team he knows the responsible for his action but he gotta do that to win. Old school toughness

If anything, Michael may have seemed like a very rude man, but in reality he was very nice because he was tough and held everyone accountable including himself. He was nice by pushing everyone to their limits and beyond, including himself. Sometimes, generosity doesn’t always look like generosity. Sometimes, the generosity is well hidden in the end result of things. Sure, some of MJ’s actions went too far. But the nicest thing he’s done for his teammates was not just demanding better out of them, but giving ALL of himself to the teams he played for and against as well as the fans who watched him growing up, whether they loved him or hated him. And many of us know he’s still beloved to this day because he gave everything and then some and all he wanted his teammates to do was the exact same. He didn’t ask his teammates to copy and paste his game. He just asked them to match his work ethic, discipline and commitment. So by THAT logic… he was nice. Because people who are truly mean will sometimes let you slip, fall and fail with no guidance whatsoever and leave you behind in silence as you suffer alone.

I know a thing or two about a thing or two. One: Michael Jordan is the greatest basketball player ever. Measure what it takes in any competition - winning. Think about the game of basketball. The ultimate two-way sport. On both sides of the court, every moment whether on offense or defense meant everything, and he gave everything. It could be in the 82nd game of the year locked in already for the playoffs against a team headed for the lottery, but he knew fans paid to see Michael Jordan. There’s a reason people refer to folks who are the best in their field as, “The Michael Jordan of…” Having said all that, I also know that alcohol brings clarity & lessens one’s vulnerability & fear. Heightens confidence & assuredness. He is the GOAT, but I see what’s next to him. I see what he markets (a brand drink - not Gatorade). I see it in his eyes.
