Hey Doc. Today while touring the Frank Lloyd Wright house in Falling Water PA a lady was stung by a wasp. I quickly found plantain (pantago major) and had her chew it up and hold it on the bite. She was amazed that the stinging stopped immediately and although the tour guide had someone from the house bring that "sting kit" with a numbing agent she preferred to use the plantain. Score another one for HGHSBM!

Back when we were on the farm every time I would head out to the garden my husband would ask me "Are you going out to graze or to harvest?" I would always answer "both of course" LOL! Thank you for sharing your love of grazing too!

I love youre sense of humour. Here in Australia, its the first day of spring, and I noticed a lot of that cleavers in my garden yesterday… I had no idea it was such a great herb. I was going to pull it all out and throw it away !!!! I wont now.

When was this filmed? Earlier in the year? One of my favorite weeds is purslane. I use it in salsa. It’s delicious! Also, it has more omega 3 fatty acid than any other plant!

One of my favored weeds that I loved when it took over and now specifically grow is creeping wood sorrel. What an amazing lemony flavor! And the list of health benefits it has provided through the years is astounding.

Question on the prickly lettuce- if I wanted to make a tincture would I dry it first or just let it wilt a little since we want more of the white sap? Thanks!

Fireweed is everywhere near me in the south. Those little buggers proliferate all over the yard and grow so very tall till they get their dandelion puff seeds. I wonder if it's good for anything.

How can you differentiate between a young Prickly lettuce and a Dandelion ?

So I am having this really interesting thought. While watching a show a commercial comes on for weed killer. I reflected on having watched this video and then thinking about the fact that we are being sold weed killer (told to use it) the powers that be must know that these “weeds” have the medicinal properties and they don’t want us to know. (Side note I am very new to exploring plants and medicine - maybe many if you already figured this out but wow this whole idea clicked for me. We are taught they are weeds and they shouldn’t have these intruders in our yards and flower beads. But what if some of these weeds by my growing next to certain plants are trying to give us a hint that their properties and the properties of the plant they popped up next to would make a particularly amazing salve, tea, tincture. Wow my head is just spinning. I will say tho I can’t have my flowerbeds overtaken by the non personally planted. 😊

Where was this yesterday when I weeded the garden, lol? I must have cut down a dozen or more prickly lettuce. I didn't have a clue as to what it was. I just thought it was a dandy lion on steroids. Can you tell us more about how to prepare prickly lettuce for internal use please?
