At least you didn’t say hop into an ice bath… that’s one that blows me away after training as you are completely stopping the inflammation and essential tearing / recovery of those muscles for bulk. If you don’t want to bulk, great. As for this, I would say I don’t disagree but I also am a big believer in 15-20mins sauna after a workout with a snack / lots of hydration (h2o and liquid iv)

I dont think it matters much as long as you drink extra water. What i heard actually is that using ice bath after workout can be counterproductive because you get ride of inflammation that you want your body to recover from.

Vasodilation/increased circulation trumps whatever a fluid/electrolyte deficit’s negative effects on cellular regeneration is. Pros outweigh the cons.
@jamiephillips30
@jamiephillips30 Жыл бұрын
Possibly, but vasodilation doesn't inherently = recovery. Yes, your blood vessels are dilated but if your blood isn't carrying adequate electrolytes and nutrients to your cells recovery will be sub-optimal.
@ridsy9342

@@jamiephillips30 Dehydration is not a limiting factor for hemoglobin concentration in RBC. No matter how depleted you are of fluids and electrolytes, your hemoglobin levels are not affected by this. Therefore oxygen delivered stays the same, unless your iron levels are depleted. However, by increasing blood flow through vasodilation, you increase the # of RBC which increases the # of hemoglobin proteins, and increases oxygen molecules delivered to the muscle tissue. Basically more blood equals more oxygen, which is a key factor for ATP synthesis. Oxygen is also needed to break down the lactic acid in the liver. Hope this helps.
