Mark, this is brilliant. As a teacher, I hear this "how to" all the time. A couple of other things it would be cool to do lessons on if you haven't already: 1. Do you know where is the zoo? *Wrong* (...where the zoo is?) 2. How do you call this animal in English? *Wrong* (What do you call...?) There's confusion here with "How do you say...?"

Hi, I’m new comer in Canada. I’m learning English with you, thank you so much for your good teaching. I have a problem about the sentences that there is (to, about, or something like these) end of the sentence. I can’t understand them! For example: where are you off to? Or, what are you talking about? Or, I don’t want to! I think to or about are not for end of the sentence! Pleas learn me about that💐

This greatly depends upon region. In Scotland and Ireland 'How To' is correct. The word 'How' also shares the definition ' why'. I.E How?.= Why?. In formal Standard English it is incorrect, in informal colloquial English it is correct.

Hello, Mark. Your videos benefit me a lot. I have a question I think it relates to the topic of this video. I found this sentence on Cambridge Dictionary website, the sentence is "Why waste your money on things you don’t need?" The question here is without an auxiliary verb and without a subject, so what is the rule in this sentence? And is this rule valid only with the pronoun (you) or I can use it with any pronoun? I hope you answer my question because I didn't find any information about it on the internet.

Interesting. As a native speaker I think you can ask yourself rhetorically "How to... ?" but not ask someone else. Read Thomas Hardy's "Jude the obscure" for an example - Jude as a boy asks himself "But how live in that city?" (I think)
