Thanks for the video 😊 a lot of my teenage students often say ‘so-so’ and I’ve always wondered where they got it from. I’ve never heard a native speaker say that. I’ll definitely show them this video in class tomorrow ☘️

"Nothing to write home about" is related to my experience in Dublin. My friends and I were hanging out with an Australian guy who was teaching us some idioms and to make it clear he said "For example, that girl over there is nothing to write home about" and he pointed out a group of 3 people, 2 girls and one boy. After some moments, the pretty big guy approached us and made us notice that that was pretty rude. Nobody got hurt, though. That idiom has stuck to me to this day.
