@sulbul644 жыл бұрын
@@GodofMMA23 it was difficult. i think a draw was the best option as bisping kept getting back up when taken down, landed more damaging strikes in the clinch and the stand up, but chael took him down repeatedly and held him down in the 3rd round for pretty much the whole round
@sulbul644 жыл бұрын
@mc finn possibly. i think it went chaels way because the 3rd round was the most dominant either one had been in the entire fight. bisping was outlanding chael in the clinch and on the feet, and chael was tired as shit, but he had bisping down for nearly 5 minutes straight and i think that sealed the deal. or maybe they just wanted anderson v chael 2 lol

Absolutely love all of this content Chael, the way you present yourself and tell a story is as encapsulating as it has always been, glad to see that you are finding more peace in retirement through analysis and hard work than some others have! We are all "addicted" to something I feel, some in a more healthy way to healthier things, some in a much less healthy fashion to much unhealthier things!I don't know what it is like to be a fighter in particular, but I imagine your goal/addiction when you are, is becoming champion. Mastering a certain skill or set of skills that you know will push you forwards towards your end goal. Everything you do is moving you closer towards that end. That can get stripped away from you in retiremenet! Some people maybe even realise that they were only still fighting because they had no other addiction/goal, they had no other outlet or means to fill time during the day. Finding what to do in your spare time, even if that is just a few hours a day. I feel like is one of the most challenging and important things to get right for almost everyone through all walks of life. Thankyou for putting this information out there and helping people with your insights and experience! An invaluable channel to have around.

A lot of fighters came from unfotrunate backgrounds, with poverty comes a lot of problems. So they went to martial arts to keep them out of trouble. But that doesn't make the problems go away, if you don't face them, it will haunt you back. We see this with a lot of fighters after their retirement. I think it's due overtime that we take care for fighters mental health, not just their physical health.

@kennyhouser34674 жыл бұрын
BJ is not what you describe though. His family is wealthy and well known in Hawaii outside of his fighting career. The problem with BJ is that he has TOO MUCH money and TOO MUCH spare time. Much like the struggles you hear about from Matt Hughes, these guys get addicted to being "the baddest man on the planet" and when Father Time comes to collect their egos are too huge to realize that we all get old and we all lose "it" at some point. It's part of life.
@memel0rdxxx6964 жыл бұрын

Maybe the UFC should become more active in helping these guys transition into retirement? Help them with agents who can get them booked at Auto dealership opening's, corporate events, Book deals and co- authors to help tell their stories, gyms that need coaches etc etc. . I would think the UFC would have a vested interest in seeing these guys all stay out of trouble and have decent lives. Also... Counseling... not to mention (eventually) a retirement home. It's such a tough sport. They really sacrifice a lot to even become a ranked contender.
@Eagle13494 жыл бұрын
Very good point, I was a kickboxer 34 years ago. I never achieved any level of greatness. But, it was a fun journey, I was able to help friends become champions. But a day came when I had to hang it up. It was tough, I realized there was no money in the sport. But, it was hard to get out, the camaraderie, the sweat as well as the blood. I went into law enforcement and enjoyed the adrenaline rush from that line of work. I also enter college But, many years later I often wish I could put the gloves on one more time, but the reality is this there is a time for everything. That time for me was fleeting, but I enjoyed the after-parties, I enjoyed hanging out with the NFL players and other major sports guys. It was a great experience sharing mutual respect from various sports and entertainment celebrates of that time. It was fun, but as you mentioned there must be an exit strategy. Thankfully I was able to replace one crazy life for another chasing and fighting the bad guys. But, the day came when life forced me to hang up the gunbelt and badge. I had to find other ways to fill that void as well. Great video!

I appreciate all the advice brother, but i absolutely agree, i try to see my life in phases and because of my last phase, im entering my 30s in the best shape of my life and i know its the hard work, getting up at 4 every morning so i have time to work out and do my routine before work, work out immediately after work and then my evening routine. Im usually getting my first real relaxation time of the day around 1130, up at 4 and do it again and yes its hard, some days i dont wanna get up but if i dont, my body doesnt feel right, i need to workout every morning or i feel like i neglected my well being physically and mentally. Point is, dedication to a positive program everyday will help put you in better touch with yourself and i feel more self worth and confidence knowing my program isnt easy, knowing my program is getting results and helping to make me a better person.
