This is what I wrote 3 years ago too on videos. Now I know, that skateboarding is about my progess and not about comparing to others. I was skating almost 3 years and I still didn't know how to do a kickflip, I was depressed when i saw people landing kickflip after 2 weeks. But then I realised, that everyone's progress is different, u just need to love skateboarding and never give up.

Me too buddy, i like ledges personally and stairs

If you have solid 5050s on ledges, a 5050 on a rail of similar height is actually not that difficult (as I have recently learned). Start at the end of the rail and slowly work your way up, just remember about the heelside pinch. Speed also helps, if you can commit while going fast. If you are dead scared of ollying into a 5050 on a rail (as I was), just approach is suuuper slowly and ollie onto it with both trucks without any intention of balancing/grinding and jump off immediately. You will NOT fall. Do this a couple of times until you can actually commit, then go through the steps above.

I also just started skating rails, start slowly with doing fs boardslides, there's almost no chance of hurting yourself seriously if you stay cautious and aware. If you fall you'll be able to catch your body with your hands, or your feet automatically push the board away. Commit slowly but do it, you'll get used to how it feels quickly
