Thank you for joining us as we study Torah this week to see what the Sages are discussing this week.
As always, if you have any additional insight and/or nuggets, please leave them in the comments as we're all trying to learn what the Wisdom of Israel teaches in Scripture. Please also leave a reference with your nugget so that we can have this reference in our arsenal.
We have referenced or used the materials of:
Sefaria.org - Bible, Rashi, and Mekhilta D'Rabbi Yishmael Commentary
Chayenu.org - monthly subscription that provides Rashi commentary on the Torah Portion
Commentary and Insights as taught by Rabbis that also teach Gentiles:
Rav Bernstein z’l” - Aydat HaDerekh (Facebook)
Rav Shapira - Ahavat Ammi (KZfaq and Facebook)

Confession time, Jennifer: I fast-forwarded to 28:20 to see what you had to say about the vow. 😅I think this is a great initiative! Studying together has a lot of value! I wish you good fortune! May you remain confident in your faith 💪🙏 and also teach and encourage others! Notice the vow does not prohibit *all* intoxicants, nor *all* vinegars, nor *all* strong drinks. Only those originating from the fruit of the grapevine.🍇 Holy hair is fire, indeed, I wholeheartedly agree! 😁 The Nazarite is still under the *name* of Nazarite, even after he or she burn the hair, drink the wine, bring the offerings, and fulfill their vow. Part of the reason for that is that once you take this vow - even if only for a short time - the Nazariteship then becomes a real part of you. And some of it remains with you, spiritually-speaking, despite the physical vow coming to an end. מעלין בקודש ואין מורידין We elevate in holiness and do not lower

Thank you so much for your super words of encouragement! Thank you for pointing out these important details regarding the Nazarite and how it’s a part of one when they take this vow, these details really help to bring our understanding to life. Thank you for contributing - please keep it coming so that we can continue to elevate in holiness and not lower!

@@moftheinternets606 Yes there is a lot of truly interesting content out there for sure. You keep Rashi and you’ll run into these sort of topics. One great thing about the Rabbis is that everything is up for discussion 😃

Good morning! I had a question, so just a bit of background I grew up Muslim but left for many reasons but one of them was how terrible their Noah story was about Ham. I noticed in Torah its nothing as specific or really racist as the Arab/Islamic version (trust me its terrible) but was wondering where I could learn more about the Torah version of the story.

@@moftheinternets606 Good Morning! Thanks for the background, I didn’t know about how the Quran spoke about Noah and Ham. If you go to Sefaria.org and go to > Texts> Tanakh > Genesis > Chapter 6. Chapter 6:9 starts the Noah epic … in Sefaria you can click on each verse and get commentary of the Sages are saying going on in each verse. They are looking for answers in the text just like we are. I suggest the commentary from Rashi. If you need help let me know. And also when you’re done reading the commentary I’d like to know what you think.
