This is something I want to get better at.... learning art is a process and everything didn't always turn out, you make mistakes, ruin things but you also learn. So if you do watch this video, learn with me.
Thanks to #Smartartbox for sending these monthly boxes, pushing me to try new things.

FAQ:
Q:What pencil, paper, pen (etc) do you use?
A: I generally use a 2b drawing pencil and artist sketch paper, sometimes Bristol. Check out my Art Supplies video for more information. • Drawing Supplies
Q: How do you record your videos?
A: I use a Sony Handycam HD to record my videos and Adobe Elements Premier for editing
Q: Can I send you mail?

Q: Will you write me back?
A: If you include a self-addressed stamped envelope, I will reply back to you! :)
Q: Can you draw a picture of my dog. horse, cat, Mother (Etc)
A: Unfortunately, I am unable to take personal requests. If you are interested in purchasing a commissioned drawing from me, send me a message for more information.
Q: How can I get better at drawing?
A: The biggest thing you can do is keep drawing! Never give up.

It’s not a mistake, only happy accidents! Art shouldn’t have to be a failure. Art is beautiful and you could never make mistakes in art.

I would love to see you try again after reading instructions, and following the directions. I still think it turned out beautiful though.

Lordy, thank you for the warning cause I felt your pain through the vid. But it was actually really motivating to see an artist I respect going through their own struggle while creating. It helps me give myself some slack and I'm pumped to jump into another project that's been bothering me for a while now. So thank you!

You are welcome for the warning. That’s why it took me so long to post it because editing it was painful! Have fun arting.

Valerie, your commentary had me laughing so much. You are so funny! I love paint pouring but there is definitely a learning process. However, there is also a freedom in not being able to have total control over what the paint does, which can be fun. Thanks for sharing this! ❤️

I think paint pouring has a steep learning curve. I had at least 3 really rough ones myself before I started realizing what things weren’t working. And I really sympathize with the amount of paint thing…it uses sooo much and really easy to not have enough. BUT! I have found it is soooo relaxing once you get the hang of it. Would love to see you try more!

Less is definitely more. I bought that Pebeo set last month and had fun with it. Absolutely loved the results, though I also didn't use enough paint at first. The colours are gorgeous and the it's great to create cells with the silicone provided. I didn't use a hairdryer, only tried embossing tool for popping air bubbles. I didn't like the mess I made on the back of her canvas panels. I think the hairdryer is best to use for Dutch pours. It's definitely a fun art form and there are some amazing artists on KZfaq showing the techniques. I am now in two FB pouring groups and they are very helpful with advice. I think the biggest challenge will be to learn how to mix your own pouring paints with medium or glue and water. I hope you will try more pours and share them.

That disclaimer had me stressing 🤣 You did an AMAZING job! It's always about learning and getting out of your comfort zone, the exploration is half the fun. @herhuntress did a really awesome video with this Smart Art Box going over different techniques, I had watched her video before even getting into my own kit, which saved me a lot of head-scratching considering it was my first-time acrylic paint pouring as well. We can't wait to see your second round of paint pouring! - Molly

I think you just need some practice in poring. I have never done this before but I know that painting is all about trial and error. Also, your art is so inspiring, and I love your videos, they have taught me so much. Your videos are where I first learned to draw realistically. I can't wait for you'r next art video. "Don't watch ..." ... me: settles in and gets cozy. But seriously, I love that you made this video. I've watched some acrylics pours and often thought "what if you did this?" or "why don't they do that?" and many of those you demonstrated what happens if you try it. I'll probably never have a chance to try so it was satisfying to "try" different things through you. Sorry they weren't successful though.

It would have been better if you have just stopped messing with it (especially the first one) but I think the more if a mess it made it was more interesting, and more unique. And it still looked good!

Not saying they look bad but note to ur future self is that most pouring vids I see on Instagram or smthn, u can very clearly see each colour being used in the different areas of the canvas bc there’s a generous amount of each one. Here it looks u tried to mix the colours but kinda failed bc uve never mixed colours b4 this 😂😂
