Don Williams is my favorite Country singer of all time. He was the epitome of country life to me. There was NOTHING pretentious about him. Nothing fake or phony. He was always comfortably himself when he performed. He sung of the everyday experiences of country life and bonded with us because he was singing our lives. The simple pleasures, the hard work, the sadness, the disappointments, the joys and the wonders. Family and friendship. Our passtimes, our interests, and our faith in God. He put our lives to music with his beautifully deep and fatherly voice. He chose great songs and never seemed to feel the need to change to follow trends. He was himself. What a treasure. He gave us so many great songs to enjoy with such memorable melodies and meaningful lyrics. Artists of today could learn so much from him.

Does this song make any other mothers cry, because their adult child has absolutely no clue how much you love them, how hard you worked to get them where they are today, and that you actually did not ruin their life? I feel so sad that my son doesn’t get it and understand that I am the only one who has always been there, and loved and protected him. That I literally gave him my life. He resents me wrongfully. It’s not fair. “Ya buy’m books an buy’m books, and they just chew on the covers.”

Life is so hard sometimes, but what you're saying is absolutely right. It's all about sacrifice- giving your life for another. You actually have lived your life to the full, the way God expects us to live. You have been more successful than most people will ever dream of being. Why? Because you just found out how God felt when Jesus was nailed to the cross. He lost His precious Son to a bunch of ingrates like us. But He did it anyway. And so did you! ❤ Hang on Brandy, you did it right!
