For a short window of time Donald Curry was the best fighter I have seen.

It is amazing how quick his fall was. There was a time they were talking about him being a serious threat to Hagler. I never thought he could beat Hagler but it wasn't a joke. When that boy from England stopped him on a cut, he was never the same. Just really strange.

Me too me he was getting better and better with Honeyghan he was weight drained maybe a Little burnt out and he underestimated him remember he's had an amateur background all those fights can catch up too you and he had a bad night and was caught at the right time then it's was a real rocky road but he's a hall of famer fighter for real

@@HarryHeath-pb6rvgood post. Honeygan had a great strategy and fought a great fight, but that was hardly the same Curry in previous fights, for various reasons.

400-4 as an amateur. He was beating guys with such ease in 1979-1980, he often fought back to back to back fights on just days rest. Remarkable, really.

Same. In 1984-1985 he looked like the next all time great. The guy we’d be forever talking about after Leonard, Hearns, Hagler, etc. He looked THAT good. Fantastic skill in all aspects of the sport. And then one day, he wasn’t.

Curry was crazy talented. His defense as a “slipper” here was insane. Nino was swinging at air all night.
