I was blessed to have met and danced with Donald Connor on stage. Mom had taking me to a fundraiser and he was the draw to get that whole room full of women to give more money. She spoke up and told him I knew how to tap dance and they asked me to come up I didn't want to but mom made me go up to the stage. They introduce him to me and he asked me if I could follow some steps I said yes so he showed me a few steps and we did the short dance and they gave me a autograph picture of him. At the time I didn't make a big deal of it I didn't know who he was I was only 12 years old.. Oh I wish we had technology like we do now that I could have recorded meeting and dancing with him. RIP to Donald O'Connor, Debbie Reynolds and her daughter Carrie Fisher who preceded her mother and death by one day. I personally think Debbie Reynolds couldn't take the loss of her daughter and it contributed to her death. So glad we are still able to watch the movies they made.

I met Debbie Reynolds in Arizona around 1988-89. The store photographer interrupted her lunch to take her picture and I was embarrassed. I walked out of the store with her and apologized for the interruption. She said it was okay and that she was used to it. She was very, very nice. The only celebrity I asked an autograph from, and I’ve met a lot of celebrities.

@@stancrazyexgirlfriend8760 I wish I could post a video but 1972 we didn't have all the great technology we have today and it didn't get recorded. People didn't carry cameras all the time and I don't remember if they allowed them at that fundraiser I was too young to pay attention to something like that. My mom had taken with her and I was the only child there in that room full of women. It makes me so sad that at the time I didn't make a bigger deal of getting the chance to meet and dance with Donald O'Connor I had no clue who he was till years later. I just have to be so happy that my mother spent a lot of time and money taking us to go see the stars preform. She taught us not to be shy we were just walk backstage like we own the place like we belong and get to meet them. I did the same thing over the years I'm thinking of posting pictures that I do still have of people I've met. I'm still upset I've not been able to locate the autograph picture I was give at the event of Donald O'Connor. So much was lost after my mother passed away two of my brothers and one's wife cleaned out almost all of my mother's belongings and some of my things too it was very upsetting.

Has anyone else noticed that there seem to be a lot of "Singin' in the Rain" references in this movie? Besides the lamppost pose in this number, the Broadway play Debbie's character appears in is called Quarterback "Kelly," in one of the dream sequences she works for "Cosmic" studios and I could swear I hear Donald call one of the Look magazine secretaries Miss "Selden."

@@de-lovely7859 Yes I'm the one that got to meet and dance on stage with Donald O'Connor. I was only 12 years old (1972) and I only remember him saying so I here you can tap dance and then asking me if I could follow a few steps if he showed them to me I don't remember much else that he said to me but I was able to dance on stage with him the steps weren't that hard that he showed me I had been taking tap dance for two years. I had no clue who he was just that Mom was so excited to take me to this fundraiser because he was there as a draw to get this room full of women to give more money it wasn't until years later till I knew who he was. I really wish we had the technology we have now back then be able to record meeting and dancing with Donald O'Connor. I was given an autographed picture with all the years and moving around I have no idea what happened to it it's very depressing. I'm sure it would probably be worth a lot of money if I still had that autographed picture. They say autographed pictures, books and other items are worth more money if they're not personalized but mine was made out to me. Maybe I'll get lucky and find it since I've been going through the things that came from my parents house that I have stored in my attic and in my garage. I have found all kinds of things from my childhood. So far I found my Brownie uniform, Girl Scout uniform, Pep Squad uniform, cheerleading uniform, PE uniform, a pair of size 0 corduroy bell bottom pants LOL, a speech book from first grade, a report I did on American birds with a lot of pictures cut out from magazines, a report I did on cattle trails of the United States I did in elementary school maybe I'll get lucky and find that picture of Donald O'Connor. I even found stuff that my older brothers had made when they were little in those boxes. I had found letters that my brother had written when he was in the Navy serving during the Vietnam war and his Navy uniform and I had given them to him. I kind of wish I would have kept them he passed away 2 years ago February 9th when they cleaned out his house they threw them away along with so many other things. Well it's a good time to clean out my house now that we're having to stay at home considering I've had my parents belongings since July 12th 1999 since my father passed away. I inherited everything from his house and he had kept things that mom had kept she had passed away July 18th 1979. Even with him moving three times and moving to Florida and back to Texas he still kept our childhood things. I still can't believe how tiny my clothes were. I graduated high school weighing 82 lbs and the only reason I weighed that much is because I took track and weight lifting and gained 10 pounds. It's funny my brothers are all over 6 foot and I only got up to 5'2". After many years and spinal replacement surgery I'm only 4' 11 1/2" but have gained weight over the years. Now I think I'm going to have to watch the movie "There's No Business Like Show Business" the song is stuck in my head LOL hope you enjoyed watching the movie.

Not wrong at all :) rejoice in it and have fun with it :) Others your age may call it weird, but I always theorised that if liking talent and skill makes me weird, than weird I am and proud :)

How could a girl who is only 5'2" possibly dream of a guy who is 6'2"? What would be fun about dating someone so tall you'd have to get a ladder to kiss him?

Me I'm 5'2" and have always liked tall men. Usually all over 6'1" I've even dating guys as tall as 7'2". I had one boyfriend that could get on his knees and look me in the eyes. I've always have been around tall people all my brothers are over 6' tall even some of the women I know are over 6 foot. My one friend in high school was 6' tall and my dad would call us Mutt and Jeff reference to an old cartoon that the one guy was very tall and the other was short. Funny thing she ended up marrying a man 5'6" LOL

@@adorableshawn2649 I hope you hit a growth spert like my brothers did by 19 they were all 6' or taller. They turned out to be oldest 6'4", second one 6'1" third one 6' even and me the only girl and baby of the family 5'2". But like Debbie's song she said 6'1" or 6'2" I've dated men as tall as 7'2" I like tall men. My one boyfriend could be on his knees and look me in the eyes. LOL
