Jack, I have an idea... Do five rounds and subtract your total score from 25000. As an example if you get 23000 points at the end, you have to donate 2000 pounds.

That Spanish one where you guessed the Russian Island gave a lot of points because the way the map is projectes skews it to the north. The further north you go, the bigger the land masses look compared to their actual size on a globe. That's why Greenland appears to be about the size of Africa despite actually being about 15 times smaller.

I reckon you should have, in a sense, done the opposite. Donate the number of points away from a perfect score, so if you got a scare of 4995 you donate five quid. You could use a narrower geoguesser game like the find the MacDonald’s one or just a uk only map to make it more manageable.

I think he should have done every 1,000 points equals one pound/dollar. This way, he could actually try and guess correctly, and even if he did get a perfect round score, it would only be $25 dollars.

Love how Jack got caught by the flaws of the Mercador projection. The island he picked is actually just bit more than halfway along the straight line from Spain to Alaska. When he said "I should have gone over here", he was absolutely right, even though on that map it looks about the same distance, it's nearly twice as far.

That's on the bottom one, the top charity it just says thank you so he probably donated the rest to the top charity, the children's hospital, and £154 to Mansfield wildlife rescue.

To explain the points thing, remember that the map projection Geoguessr used becomes extremely distorted far to the north and south. For instance, Africa is MANY times larger than Greenland, but on the Geoguessr map it looks only a bit bigger. So while the “line” connecting two points may look very long, the actual number of miles may be much smaller than expected. This is also why Antarctica looks almost the size of the rest of the continents combined on the Geoguessr map when in reality it’s much smaller.
