Our first drive through Blackpool Illuminations in our VW California Ocean Campervan, we didn't expect to have a military fighter plane flypast :).
Stayed in Preston which was about a 20 minutes drive at a lovely campsite, vitally had a great pub called theshipfreckle... down the road.

Hey Vanfarers we are from Australia and planning a trip about this time next year. Your video gives us confidence that our plan of flying into London then hiring a VW van like yours to self drive UK Scotland both Irelands Wales is possible. So the 2 questions are, how long/much time, do you think we should allow to experience the above places (I know that's an impossible question) and what's the cost of camping / night staying like you are doing in the sites you have been to?

Hey :) Glad we can help. You will have an amazing experience driving through the uk. Not all campsites are open in winter but still have a good amount of choice, also Scotland gives you the freedom to wild camp with some amazing sceneries. If you go up to Ben Nevis you can comfortably do in 3 days, or 2 with less stops. Then you have so many choices on the way back like yorkshire, Lake District, Peak district or parts of Wales. Budget £30 or less for campsites. hope this helps and good luck 😊👍🏻

3 weeks will be enough if you keep on the move. You might need another holiday when you get back with a pool. 😊

thank you @@Thevanfarers that feedback is very much appreciated. We have a 2023 Hyundai Staria set up which is very similar to the VW Ocean accept our van is a self build; 'easy/minimalist' set up. Thanks again. we will be following you now :)

Congratulations on your new van!. Our van is identical to yours. We did our first trip to Scotland too in last December ! I suggest making the pop-up roof wrap as in the following video.
