Poor suffering donkey. It needs a vet, painkillers and a farrier. This treatment is so rough I can't watch. I know you are doing the best with what you have but that poor suffering little donkey breaks my heart.

Bathing the affected hoof with warm water would have brought pain relief and softened the hoof for easier trimming.

It loos like right rear hoof has issues not addressed. Also, with how much it hurt the donkey to walk, couldn’t the farrier have walked to the donkey instead?

Pain medication before treatment is needed. Donkey needs pain relief.

That's not the way it is done in America. After the infection is rinsed, antibiotic is administered. A sterilized wrap is put on. Then, a lift is glued to it where there no damage. The animal doesn't have a person pounding on the hoof with a nail and hammer 😳

Why do you not first and foremost scrub the entire hoof with a scrub brush and antiseptic soap and very warm water. The amount of barn floor waste left on this poor guys hoof is unacceptable. That entire hoof from the 1st joint down should be wrapped as to not allow any bacteria on/in the hoof.

I usually don't criticize the treatment given to these donkeys, because I know that people like Master Du don't always have access to the tools and techniques that we do in the Western world But the lack of sanitary measures and the rough treatment of an animal who is obviously in a great deal of pain made me cringe. This animal needs a vet, and although that may not be possible, I wish that measures were taken to reduce the risk of further infection, and that they treated the poor little soul with a little more compassion. I know that the safety of the farrier is a consideration, but twisting it's nose AND an ear in addition to digging at the hoof with what appeared to be a rusty, or if not rusty, at least dirty instrument just blew me away, and not in a good sense. But I am trying to understand what the reality of these people is in regards to access and knowledge of better methods of helping this donkey. I imagine I'm going to have the image of this poor animal in my head for quite a while.

Respeto su manera de curarlo pero no es necesario lastimarlo más con los clavos . Era suficiente una bota de piel .y sebo de borrego caliente en la infección es buenísimo y no sufriría tanto el pobre burro.

Master Du is good at trimming hooves, not at fixing infected hooves. This poor animal is going to suffer more after the digging and nailing the plate into the hoof. Donkey needs professional care.

Seriously guys, if that donkey has an abcess all you have to do is open it up and let it drain on its own. Do not pack it with anything and do not nail a pad to the hoof. Especially not thru the area that has the abcess. I applaud you for trying to help these donkeys but please do some research on how to treat these kinds of things.

Some pain management would’ve been helpful to this girl. It’s great that he can treat her by cleaning and giving her cotton stuffed in the hole with peroxide and whatever else he’s using but hey it’s more than what was happening. I wish a speedy recovery and would b nice to see the treatment has worked.
