Sometimes the process of getting a glitch is rather simple, and sometimes it's quite lengthy. Nintendo Coin Early in it's current state is most certainly the latter. Today, we look into how you can collect this coin early in a file and why it works.

Dude I remember playing this in 2008 when I was 6 and been playing ever since. This Banjo Tooie, Starfox 64 were my fav n64 games. I remember I was stuck in hideout helm so I took a break because 6 year old me didn't know what to do so finally 2 years later 2010 I finally beat this game because I found out I had to beat the jetpack game and the dk arcade game.

Well done getting started on video games (Seriously) that early. Don't know why but before I was 8ish I don't remember actually trying to beat any games but was content to derp around and thought it was funny to keep suiciding the player off ledges and finding new ways to die.

The nintendo coin is the ONLY part of DK64 I don't like. You have to entirely complete the brutally hard game in one life - a perfect run, TWICE. How did anyone at Rare approve this?

So you skip playing DK Arcade twice by playing DK Arcade anyway? Makes sense to me! Also, isn't it Pauline who's normally held captive in DK Arcade? Not Peach?

Nah, you essentially use one file to allow you to play story Arcade in the menu, and then use that for a file without any of the normal pre-requisites ("Early" meaning no Round 1 Golden Banana, no Baboon Blast, and technically you don't play Arcade in that file etc.). Is it Pauline? I always thought it was Peach because Jumpman was meant to be Mario. However I'm not incredibly well versed in the deep Mario lore, so I may be wrong.

A credits warp actually has some potential for the future, we just need to pull up a certain value for a glitch called "Wrong Cutscene" to pull up the cutscene where K Rool flies out of the final battle ship into K-Lumsy's prison (Cutscene 29 in DK Isles)

I always thought there was another way of getting this coin early. I done it once and i wasn't even trying to speedrun the game. The game actually glitches in the mini game just getting past the first floor, I don't know how but it just allowed me to actually collect the Nintendo coin in game, it warps me back out, and it just comes down as if I completed it. Of course on the second round but still, never been able to do it again, didn't know what caused the glitch in the first place. I might blame it on the game being damaged in some way but like I said, never happened again after that and I must've tried hundreds of times. lol

Tbh I think banning glitches is kinda cringe. I watch speedruns to see how fast someone can complete a game not to see how fast someone can complete a game with some made up rules.

The rule of banning Intro Story Glitch has its reasons. There's a side effect of ISG which leads to coloured bananas/coins respawning even if you collected them (essentially duplication). Banning duplication, in the end, improves the run because otherwise Galleon would be just doing the Seal race 25 times. For any%, sure, it shouldn't have any banned glitches. But for other categories, banned glitches are usually done with the decision to maintain integrity of a category.
