Diagnosed with lung cancer, Summer died on May 17, 2012, at her home in Naples, Florida. She was posthumously described as the "undisputed queen of the Seventies disco boom" who reached the status of "one of the world's leading female singers." Moroder described Summer's work with him on the song "I Feel Love" as "really the start of electronic dance" music. In 2013, Summer was inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame. R.I.P Donna.

I first heard this song on a Walkman. my uncle brought it back from Hong Kong, 79 or 80 (I was 16 or 17), none of the kids in my neighbourhood had ever seen a Walkman before, don't think you could even buy them yet where we lived. , Everyone took turns listening to this song (my uncle had put a Donna Summer tape in), how the music moved from one headphone to the other and back, minds blown.. revolutionary for the time.

The Disco Generation's Bolero. Hypnotic, inexorable, imperious, soaring PERFECTION. A masterpiece from the embryonic days of synthesizers and sequencing, when extended mixes like this one were literally cut-and-pasted pieces of audio tape.

As a kid, I remember sitting in the car waiting on my mom at the supermarket at the local strip mall. All of a sudden, a salesman at the Radio Shack opened the door, placed two extra large speaker systems outside and cranked this bad boy with all its bass glory into the world. Fantastic.

Ah the days when Radio shack sold cool stuff ! Miss them now I was in the ham radio club in high school and took electronics all the DIY stuff listed RS part numbers could walk in and get every piece to build a amplifier or a transmitter .

i remember this record coming out when i was 16 and i still love it just as much today,absolute classic,sounds better than most of the music produced today and will still sound good in another 40 years
