Front mounted ATV mower made from dairy cattle & chicken recycled fence posts and other scrap metal, electrical cabinet door, homemade ATV tracks wheels and CNC cut sprockets leftovers, old table top steel framing, Ski-Doo 377 steering linkage, used car rear axle and a Honda GX340 general purpose engine. Every part except belts, bearings and some bolts are reused and used even for the third time. It's cheap and functional. Check it out! #atv #mower #frontmount #petrol #gasoline #HondaGX340 #DonnDIY #eestiyoutuber

It's clear you have given a lot of thought to the various components of this build. From the rubber isolator, to the over-center motor engagement.

You might have over 100 hours into building it. In 1994 I built a mower on 4 caster wheels, mounting it to the rear and offset to the left side of my Wheel Horse 252-H tractor. It had a Bolens 34" deck and a Briggs 8hp engine. It ran twice and cut well but I had it geared too high and the engine popped a valve. I didn't have the money to fix the engine so I parted it out. I wish I had a picture of it, but in those years trying to come up with an extra $50 was really hard. About 15 years ago by parting out lawn mowers and have gathered enough engines, electric clutches and casters to build about 6 pull type mowers. My problem is I have had health problems since I was a teenager and was diagnosed with Lyme disease 4 years ago. I'm 50 now and I'm hoping I can stay healthy enough to build some pull type mowers before I die.

Very cool. I miss welding and fabricating. I worked at a company where I was the Lead mechanic with all my plus rates (welder-mechanic-machinist-pipefitter-millwright) so I had lots of tittles and The ones I used the most was my welding, mechanic, and machinist. I was forced out at 62, (Down sizing)and I miss that job, but I really enjoy being retired. I am building up my equipment, but I need a tabletop lathe.

You mastered that mower the blades are perfectly in line and in balance to the last gram, a couple weeks ago I was mower grass for hay on are farm with a 4 drum I think it 2.5 meter in length and the blade holder snapped of becoming a brick when though it and it shuck its balls off the part weighs 250 grams and the parts shop didn't have a new one so I had to weld one together and I was 30 grams to heavy and I thought it close enough got to the field started her up and it's going off again like crazy just shows what a good job you did to get it spot on 👍

I have parted out about 60 riding mowers and commercial walk behind mowers and I have saved parts from them. I have enough mower spindles, clutches, engines, casters, caster frames and metal to build about 6 of those. My problem is the damn Lyme disease I was diagnosed with 6 years ago. I have one 36” wing mower I was making out of a Snapper SPA 360 commercial walk behind mower, minus the rear half which had the engine and drive wheels. . I have the extra casters added to the rear. I just need to add the engine and the linkage to the tractor then add controls. I have another 40” wing mower I with a height adjustment system that I just need to install the engine, linkage to the tractor and controls. Lately the Lyme disease has reduced the strength of my arms.

Great work, however the brilliance of your first design was that the mower was wheel driven. While it lacked the safety deck you put on this one, it could have been towed by ANYTHING. An ATV, your pickup truck, a horse - and it would have worked as long as you could drag it with something. This one now takes twice the fuel (ATV motor and mower motor) and really only works pushed by an ATV since you can't access the controls if you were to drag it behind by something else. Still cool design - but I'd pay money to get something really functional that was just a tow behind that didn't need hydraulics or a drive connection like most brush hogs and was large scale for a wide cut to do field work. Lots of folks don't own the mid to large farm tractor needed for a brush hog and have to hire it out - but if you had something any ATV or even a pickup truck could tow behind - and it didn't need an engine, fuel, or even much maintenance - you've got a product that has a unique place in the market. Anyone who has ever seen the massive golf course tow behinds that are made from multiple barrel blade pull mowers knows how well those work without a motor.
