As a certified canon diagnosed autism individual myself who makes bizzare noises. The sound during Donnie’s cry is created by forcing the soft pallet and/or vocal cords to compress and breathing IN air instead of breathing out. Now go forth!! Annoy everyone you know

I love how diversified their designs are and their character traits being relevant to the type of turtle they are. In every other iteration they’re just 4 copies with different skills These are just some reasons why Rise is my favorite.

EVERYONe: THE SOUND THAT HE MAKES AT 1:25 IS A SOUND THAT MY FRIEND AND I DO OFTEN, ALTHOUGH IT IS A LOT LOUDER WHEN WE DO IT. WE CALL IT THE PTERODACTYL SCREECH. I WILL NOW ATTEMPT TO EXPLAIN HOW IT’S DONE: Step 1: you close your throat. You don’t breathe while screeching. Step 2: try to inhale BUT USE YOUR CHEST. YOU WANNA BE ABLE TO FEEL YOUR CHEST EXPANDING. Notes: like speaking, the shape of your mouth will change the sound you make. I like to unhinge my jaw so that it goes as far as possible. This is honestly the best explanation i can give. HOPE THIS HELPS.

@@aud7593 It's a term I made up and use myself, I don't know if other people use it tbh- it's when you unintentionally kin a character? You're personality just matches up with theirs in a way you didn't intend for it to. I am not sure if that's simply what kinnie means in the first place and I'm just taking unecessary steps but oh well hope that cleared something up

@Mom I have a younger brother who is like Raph (2012 hothead) I would offer myself as Rise Raph (being the oldest sibling of four little brothers) but i have (scary) similarities with other turtles too. (one of my others brothers says i have some kind of personality switch, where i act like one type of person, and then switch to a different personality. For example, I'll act like Leo and pull a dumb joke, then i act like Donnie when someone speaks directly after me and i will immedeatly correct someone if they are wrong about literally anything.)

Can we talk about the fact that he sometimes call his brother by the last of their names? (Ex: 0:36 - instead of Mickey, he call him Angelo or 1:51 - calling him Nardo instead of Leo) Idk why but I find it so sweet

I love this version of Donnie so much! in the 2012 version, his only personality was the smart guy and a simp. he didn't have much character at all. but I love his character is Rise of the TMNT so much more!

They are in the hidden city, In Witch Town specifically, and April was given a more witch-like outfit as a welcome from the residents, Donnie also got an outfit but it was a frog costume so he understandably took it off. The episode is Donnie vs Witch Town btw.

Donnie has always been my favourite turtle but thank god for Rise Donnie. Literally the best version out of all of his incarnations and seriously my boy differently has autism. Which makes me love him even more. 💜💜

I love it but anytime someone mentions it I get weird Because someone said about Peridot (SU) that they made her what autism looks like from the outside. I feel that way with Donnie a bit despite relating to some moments (like when he apologizes for his speech sounding like sarcasm when it wasn’t). Maybe if we got to see more of his thought process that might change Also the “sensory issues” they point to are things that are universally gross, which points more to him having a sensitive stomach than a sensory issue. I panicked and cried once because my grandma got me this goop stuff but it was so sticky and I couldn’t get it off my hands. I felt bad about that forever because we had to throw it in the trash and it was a present.

I love this series, my only complaints being they took away some of Mikey's personality to give to Leo, and that they also took away some of Ralph's anger issues. Then again, they all clicked together really well so I'm not sure how they would have thrown the temper of an alligator snapping turtle into the mix

I feel like they didn’t detract from Mikey they just added something Mikey always has to everyone else: Optimism. The turtles in Rise are so optimistic even when the deck is stacked and they don’t let it get them down. They also work with each other as a family instead of just as a team People complain about the filler but I love the filler because they are supposed to be a FAMILY and we get to see them acting like a family outside of doing their jobs.

1:26 that noise is actually pretty easy. You know that thing teenagers are stereotyped for doing where they drop their voice? It’s the opposite. It’s done by inhaling while minimizing your head voice without dropping it completely. It’s a breathy pterodactyl squawk.
