Dude, when theres gas it doesnt matter if the carrier is open. After taking it off the equipment gets decontaminated anyways.

1. Donned the mask as quickly as possible. Go - - 2. Cleared the mask. Go - - 3. Checked the mask. Go - - 4. Completed steps 1 through 3 within 9 seconds. Go - - 5. Resumed breathing. Go - - 6. Secured the mask hood. - - 7. Drank water while wearing the mask. - - 8. Removed and stored the mask. - - 9. Performed all steps in sequence without becoming a casualty. If you would like to point me to the step where you close your mask...
