He is a class act. My best friend was dying of cancer and he called her and was kind. She has a crush on him for as long as I can remember. And it made her so happy. He spoke so sincerely with interest. She was a musician and he listened to her music before calling her and complimented her. He is a doll. It was such a sad times and he gave us a joy.

There are some not nice people in this world. I grew up listening to the Osmonds. They are truly an American family we are proud of. They worked hard for what they have. Loving, crisp people. They all look happy and make you smile when you see them. I have so much respect for them. We just know Donny and Marie the best. Kudos to all of them.

Who boos Donny Osmond, seriously?! At ten, back in 1973, I had my cheek kissed, my hand held and he winked at me while singing go away little girl, to a ten year old, that was amazing coming from a heartthrob, he was the most beautiful boy I had ever seen! And as handsome as ever that rascal!

Idk what it is about D&M but they throw out such a positive vibe it always makes me smile. They really seem to get along as bro & sis and really love each other. Marie's smile is amazing & she's such a great sport. Also, it's amazing to know that Donnie has suffered from crippling social anxiety disorder, yet he puts himself out there like that and does a great job. That's some real strength right there. Love you always D&M!

I'm a member of his faith. Without attempting to push it on anyone, I can objectively say that there's a lot of it that trends toward the positive, with regard to family relationships and what we feel our purpose is here. My wife has a friend whose marriage staled and asked her if we (she and I) still love each other. She didn't want to make her friend feel any worse, so she kind of hesitatingly said, "Yes.... Probably more now than ever." And it's entirely due to acting on what we believe we're intended for beyond mortality.

Although Donny Osmond is undoubtedly a very decent guy, he had at least one bad moment on his morning TV talk show when Jean Stapleton and Carrol O'Connor appeared on the Donny and Marie daytime talk show and Donny Osmond made a very tacky request that Jean Stapleton do her Edith Bunker voice! Although she could have given the TV studio and home audiences a cheap thrill by doing her Edith Bunker voice, she understandably refused to do it! Donny jokingly pulled some money out of his pocket or wallet and offered to pay her to do that voice. Very tacky on Donny Osmond's part!
@mariemiller15473 жыл бұрын
@@michaelbarlow6610 I agree with you. That was very tacky of him. I missed that episode. Proud of Jean for refusing to do her voice.

That's on the actor! I've seen JJ Walker do that too when asked to say dynomite! They were beloved by millions in the 70's who tuned in to see these characters each week. "We" the viewer made these people wealthy! Seems very selfish of these two to get all uppity about something trivial.
@michaelbarlow66103 жыл бұрын
@@JeepTJWheelin .Wrong! It was Donny Osmond's obligation to show some class and decency by not making a totally inappropriate, exceedingly tacky request of Jean Stapleton to do her Edith Bunker voice just to give Osmond, the studio audience and the audience watching the show at home a cheap thrill!
@JeepTJWheelin3 жыл бұрын
@@michaelbarlow6610 Donny was perceived as out of line with the money part, I get that. However, I believe he was just being his goofy self with no intent to offend Jean. But it should have never, ever come to that. It was a simple request, something for the audience and fans around the world would have liked to have seen. But unfortunately, some are very snobbish and full of themselves. Jean Stapleton and JJ Walker have proven that time and again.

I'm not surprised that people are booing while someone is singing the national anthem. These days people always kneel whenever the national anthem is played, we just had to wait till they would start booing when someone sings it too. People are very intolerant of the national anthem these days, very unpatriotic. They think the national anthem represents systemic racism or some bullshit. We're going down the drain as a country.

My first crush! I was an 8 yr old girl. My mom and a friend took her daughter and myself to a concert. Somehow the moms were able to find out where they were staying and zipped us over there. This was the next morning and they were loading up to leave. We were getting everyone's autograph, even Marie's. I remember she seemed so nice! As Donny moved onto the bus, he leaned out the window and was reaching out to hold hands. I was just a little 8 yr old girl. I was jumping as high as I could, but I was just lost in the crowd of teenage girls. Then suddenly someone wrapped their arms around me and then another set of arms wrapped around me too. They picked me up to where I was almost face to face with my dream boy! He held my hand and smiled at me! I don't know who those girls were. I have never forgotten that day over the years and it's now been 50 years since that incident.

Love that story! I will be 58 next month and I an really appreciate your story. My friend in sixth grade invited me to the the Osmonds concert at the state fair here in Michigan. Of course it's not so clear in my memory but I remember the thrill of seeing him and wasn't too far back from the stage. My friends dad made two big white hands out of poster board and attached them to the end of yardsticks and wrote something on them that I can't remember.. I remember thinking he seemed to be waving at us. It was an outside concert that started while it was still light out so I do think he was acknowledging us because of the giant hands. But that doesn't compare to your story. I'm sure you loved him as much as I did. Such a good guy! His wife is so blessed!
