Donnie is the nicest guy. I worked in an herb store in Utah and he’d come in and get a veggie sandwich and carrot juice - sit at the counter and chat with customers. He’d often bring his wife - or get a sandwich to go for her . He’s just one of the crowd - I have so much respect for him and his family. They are such good people -

Wow, what a wonderful experience and memory to have. When i was much younger i went to a Donny Osmond concert here in my state of Ohio. As he was performing onstage, I ran up to the front of the stage extending my hand out to shake his hand, he came over to shake my hand as he continued singing. I will never forget that.

That is a good story. I think this is so true of many entertainers. They are one way on stage and another off. So n mom any are shy and yet they can go on and perform in front of thousands.

Those bad comments, WHY would anyone be that cruel to anyone. For 67 years I have loved, adored and admired The Osmond family each one of you. You guys were great examples and roll models. LOVE your music and thank you for being so brutally honest. Someone else will learn from this and you can save someone alot of heartache through your pain. God bless. 67 in Texas. OH and I WISH I could have "Disco Train" on CD>>>>>>> HINT HINT Donny, all I can say is I think you have relief about all your pain and said it. I admire that. Keep being true to YOU!! We love you. Oh and just to let you know. I never listened or read or believed the crap about you guys. just saying.

Donny was my first crush in the early 70s and I’ve always loved the Osmonds. When I lived in Minnesota I wanted to see him live in Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat but never made it, and I regret that! 😫 Being in the public eye has to be so hard…I could never do it. I would imagine people only said those horrible things because they were jealous or psychotic because Donny is one of the most talented people on the face of the planet!!

The Osmonds are my childhood that I will never forget. I still listen to their old music. To me it was their best. Crazy Horses….WHAT???? My fave. It was so NOT like the Osmonds usual stuff, and THAT was what made them a fabulous band. They could be different. I don’t think they get enough credit for their talents. I’d love to see a show…especially Donny!❤️

Watching this in 2022, after witnessing the demise of so many icons from our past from self destruction - people like Karen Carpenter, David Cassidy, Michael Jackson, Whitney, and Prince. Then, think about the '27' club - Hendrix, Morrison, Cobain, Winehouse... Donny Osmond may not fall into the same category talent-wise, to some of you, but he certainly falls into the same category 'famous-wise'. He experienced an extreme amount of fame at a very young age. In fact, he experienced the exact same amount of fame at the exact same age as Michael Jackson did. And, at the time, the Jackson family and the Osmond family, looked - to the outside viewer - as very similar families. Both families larger than average - a lot of kids. Some of them, not in the group. Both come from strong parental and religious upbringings. Both exceptionally talented, with the littlest brother standing out as being a superstar. It's so crystal clear to me the reason Donny is still here - the reason he survived what all these other superstar, icon artists that were plagued with similar demons and went through similar experiences, is that none of them had the fortunate luck to connect with their soul mate in this life. Their stabilizing force. Donny has gotten through it all because of his wife. And, of course, also because he had the ability to acknowledge the need for stability and also, the intelligence to know how important it is to hold on to it. But, I'm also sure that Debbie went through a lot of rough times, so she deserves equal credit in keeping Donny sane and alive to this day. Bottom line - every single icon we've lost prematurely was basically alone in their private lives. I'm not laying blame on anyone, cause it's no one's fault. All I'm saying is that it's obvious to me, that Donny has gotten through a lot of tough times and is still going strong because of his relationship with his wife. She's definitely his soul mate. They feed off of each other. It's not something that happens to everyone, but it certainly is something that exists. And it's a pleasure to behold...
@MelissaThompson432 Жыл бұрын
That's interesting; I would say he has more talent and less fame. It's not either one, really. It's reputation: he has a reputation for being squeaky clean and that intimidates people. I don't know of anybody who works harder for their success than an Osmond.

I wish I could find a way to thank Donny. A little over a year ago I panicked before a singing performance. I’m sixty years old and I am lead vocalist in a band that plays mostly classic rock as well as some pop and country. Shortly before we were to start performing I was hit with the most debilitating feeling of dread, panic, fear etc. there was nothing I could do to mitigate it. It was absolutely awful. I kept thinking if I could just cross my arms and “Genie-blink” myself into oblivion I would do it. Death would be better than getting up in front of everyone. The ONLY thing that helped me to go on stage was the even greater fear of letting my band members down. I told them something was wrong with me that I couldn’t explain but I just wanted to run away like my hair was on fire. They covered for me as I forgot the words to songs I’ve known all my life. At times I just stood there frozen in fear as everyone looked at me quizzically. Half way through the second set It started fading a bit and by the end of the third and last set it had diminished by about 80%. I just wanted to cease existing. Happens every time I perform now, though not as bad as the first time. Listening to Donny I was floored. It was like he was describing my experience to the letter. I don’t know what I am going to do about it, but just knowing that a consummate professional like Donny Experiences it makes me feel much less alone. It also gives me a general idea of the path I need to pursue if it gets worse like the first occurrence. THANK YOU FOR SHARING YOURSELF DONNY! Wow. What a blessing.

It can't be easy to live your life in the spotlight. It's not all glitz and glamour, it's a great deal of hard work, long hours, intrusion into their personal space and in some artists lives it's giving up a normal childhood. They certainly pay the price for their artistry. And, for the most part, they have no idea how they are appreciated for a particular moment that they have either enriched or affected in someone's life through their artistry; acting, dancing, singing, or writing.

Aww you're kidding?? You were made fun of for being Donny's fan?! That's really awful!! I just don't understand certain ppl & why they seem to care so much, about how others are fans of someone and they're not; so they feel it's ok to bully others!! And it's so bad now, with so many different things going on. Some persons can just be so mean!! And nasty. I think it's appalling. I remember around the time this show was on, around 2002 etc?? But I can't remember what year his book came out?? I have to try and find it! And thanks to your comment, now I know Donny still works somewhat in Vegas!! I did not know that... Thanks & blessings xxx
