Low Landings and #Jetblast of departing and arriving aircraft can be a hazard to people or other unsecured objects.

I remember flying into and out of Skiathos about 25 years ago. The runway was SO short that planes couldn't take off with a full fuel load and had to land at another airport 20 minutes later to refuel. This airport was designed for military jets and not tourist planes.

Skiathos, a Greek island in the northwest Aegean Sea, is part of the Sporades archipelago. It’s best known for its beaches and buzzing, youth-driven nightlife scene. The action centers around Skiathos Town, where bars and restaurants spill onto sidewalks along the old harbor and Papadiamanti street, the main pedestrian thoroughfare. Between town and the airport are many open-air, waterfront clubs.

Been here and stood at the start of the runway amazing to watch the planes ✈️ land and take off and the added bonus you can have a beer 🍻 while doing so as where these people are watching from is the car park of a bar 👌

Its so impressive the fact that the aircraft approaches for landing and passes by so low at 200 mph (320 kph) and that’s barely 1/3 of it’s top speed when it flies full trust.
