XD I don't think I painted with nail polish,but I covered fallen dry leaves in nail polish,especially glittery nail polish and they looked amazing+they were way easier to preserve since the layers of nail polish made it harder for them to crumble. :) And on the subject of ruining things around the house with my artistic skills...I think I win this round: I basically painted the exterior of my house,all around,with markers,chalk,nail polish,crayons and pretty much anything that'll stick to the walls. And since we weren't exactly the wealthiest of people,my house's exterior walls look the same now. :')

When I was quite young (probably 6 or 7) my friend and I decided to use my aunty's nail polish (because it had loads of colours) and paint the teddy bear my aunt kept. We got told off and I didn't understand why I was like "I only wanted to make art." :( My Aunty still has that teddy and every time I see it I smile and sometimes laugh.

To anyone wanting to paint with nail polish (on paper) without buying a ton of colors, I'd suggest buying just these six colors: red, yellow, blue, green, white, and black. From there you'll be able to mix most any color you need pretty easily. Some colors will be harder to make, but it'll give you a good base set for painting whatever you want without being super limited by your colors and without spending a bunch of money. ^_^ (The same applies to regular paints, actually, but those tend to be a bit cheaper.)

P.S. I'm painting my toenails while I watch this, and suddenly I hear them complaining about the smell and saying they're going to open another window... meanwhile I'm in a totally closed room and the scent of the polish (and acetone) didn't even cross my mind because I'm so used to it (I'm a nail artist, which is why I was drawn to this video when I saw it in the sidebar). XD

yeah i use nail polish to decorate my sketchbooks sometimes! if you let the paint collect thickly on the brush then let the nail polish drop onto the page it makes these cute 3D bubbles, sometimes i use it for iris coloring as well!

When I was younger my dad took off the wallpaper in my room, but the pattern came off and the backing layer(?) stayed on the wall. So I had two walls to draw on. The third wall was taken up by a giant wardrobe with white backing. I drew on that as well. One time I climbed up on said wardrobe and pulled it over, so I even got to make a mark on the windowsill.

When I paint with nail varnish I usually ink the sketch then paint it let it dry ink it again and just repeat that with as many layers that I need. I also found that using little tiny paint brushes and dipping those into the paint can be easier than the varnish brush.

lpslover 90000000 I had to use a white sparkly holo color to highlight a piece once, because I didn't notice I was out of white paint.

just wanted to say that i found your channel and subscribed because you both make me laugh and i love the unique things you do to make art. Also back in 1995 my dad bought a car to celebrate the arrival of me...so a few years later ( i had to be lie 3-4 years old) i was out side and mum was watching me but didnt see me go behind the car with a small rock and "doodle" some art for daddy... i waddled up to her with a huge accomplished smile and told her dad would love the picture of me and mom and him i made. he wasnt amused by it but i was a little one so he couldnt say much. despite all the buffing and stuff he did to get most of it off, you can still see it to this day :)

Nice scented nail polish doesn't exist, unless you get the nail polish that's for little kids. And if you do this again and a bottle doesn't want to open, use a rubber band so you don't end up ruining the cap.

i have a tv tray table that i do my hobbies on when i paint or color.. its been painted with nail polish lol i got board one day and had a bunch so decided to try it.. clear coat polish were last ones i used.... other than normal wear and tear its still good a fue years later :)

There are nail polishes made for doing small designs on nails and so their brushes are a lot smaller, there are also nail design brushes you could get. If you wanted to do the inking with nail polishes some time they could be useful!

I remember when I was like four I took one of the big black permanent markers for when you're labeling boxes for packing and I wrote and drew all over my bedroom. The closet doors, the beds, the walls...everything. And everything was white or a light color. My parents weren't happy.

I really love Adams piece. His take on a modern woman with her undercut and her purple hair. I had my hair dyed red with an undercut and my dad got mad like that's not how a lady is supposed to look like. But this made me smile cause I usually just see people draw women with long natural looking hair all plain. And this is different.
