No commentary playthrough of the total conversion mod for Doom 2 "Ashes Afterglow". Played on Apocalypse skill level, getting all secrets and aiming for a "good" ending.
Afterglow is the sequel for Ashes 2063, where the World faces the consequences of your actions. Aside from new levels, enemies, weapons, textures, and music... This time around the game also has a bit of hub based questing, where your actions and acquaintances will trigger multiple endings.
Imho, this mod is not only candidate for "mod of the year" awards, but "indie game of the year" awards.

Playthrough sin comentar de la conversión total para Doom 2 "Ashes Afterglow". Jugada en dificultad Apocalípsis, consiguiendo todos los secretos y buscando el final "bueno".
Afterglow es la secuela de Ashes 2063, donde el mundo se enfrenta a las consecuencias de tus acciones. Además de nuevos niveles, enemigos, armas, texturas, y música... Esta vez el juego también tiene misiones que deberemos completar (o no), en un entorno dividido en bloques de varios niveles interconectados entre sí, donde nuestras acciones y amistades detonarán diversos finales.
En mi honesta opinión, este mod no es solamente candidato para "mod del año", sino "juego indie del año".

Damn you quick bro. Anyways. 1. At 2:40. After clearing out the mannequin store, head down the broken escalators and shoot the cluster of gas tanks. 2. At 4:28. After switching on power at the arcade, return downstairs to the broken elevator. 3. At 4:55. In the small store of Christmas decorations, by the arcade. Not a secret, but....ammo primers at 6:47. In kenneths something store. 4. At 7:40. Shooting the gong in the room after the ambush opens a secret alcove to the master blaster. 5. At 9:50. In the new area that was blown open. 6. A little tricky one. Three buttons in the library room. At 10:28, 10:35 and at 10:40. 7. At 11:13. After clearing out the library, head out to the right. Then carefully walk across the ledge into an open room. The last one is probably the truck again. And Undercity last secret at 21:22. A wooden panel. Keep up the good vids man.

At 9:45 there's a Regen Stim. After flipping the switch in the secret there, you reveal a button on the back of the ice cream machine that you can press to open up the front of the ice cream machine for the stim. I don't think it counts as a secret though.

I was pleasantly surprised by the Stephen King references on this map. The Bookstore in this level is a reference to the Dark Tower series, "Manhattan Restaurant of the Mind". Plus the Art Gallery next door has a painting of the Dark Tower and a Rose. There may be others but those are the 2 I found.

1:11 - "WHOA! Oh... Just me..." 7:45 - Nice Shadow Warrior reference. 9:17 - 10:27 - Once again, these switches were all black textures for me, I don't know what's wrong. 16:03 - I have to wonder if the toilet is some kind of reference to Tales From the Borderlands, where the guard left his chair to take a shit and many players pretended the chair was part of the exhibit. 16:32 - This was the part where a stopped and yelled "HOW DOES THIS MOD HAVE SO MUCH COOL SHIT IN IT?!?" 18:36 - To anyone who wants to be an asshole, yes, you _can_ kill the scav. His shotgun hits *REALLY* hard, but you can stun-lock him and kill him before he has the chance to say "won't shoot if you don't" by just unloading about a clip's worth of ammo from the SMG. Also, you can get extra dialogue with him if you go back to talk to him after revisiting the Spire.

I know this comment is old, but I'll respond anyway. To me, the toilets were just an obvious reference to the ready-made sculpture of Marcel Duchamp, Fountain... Wich was just a porcelain urinal putted on a pedestal. It was already at that time a joke piece of art.

Thanks brother. I like to have my brightness dimmer and danker too add to the bleak/horror atmosphere. Probably why I missed half of these secrets!! lol

Anyone else that hasn't played the demo, there's a switch/button on the back of the ice cream machine, which can only be seen when you lift the door in the shop open. That leads to a stim, I'm not sure if that there in the released version, too.

I don't get it. I think I don't have the right update, because the radio nor the triggered sound effect doesn't work when you entered the flooded disrict. It's just silence.

I'm replaying this game for 100% competition, and there is 8 secrets now, I got 7, don't know where is last one. And yes, I found regen stim, it doesn't count as a secret.

I swear Survival Difficulty has either the least amount of ammo, or I'm using more of it than you are on Apocalypse Difficulty. I had to grind for max 9mill

@@SgtMjRomero survival is Metro difficulty, basically. Ammo is much rarer. But you gain a damage bonus against everyone. It all depends on how you use it

Yeah, Apocalypse honestly looks much easier just based on that. I'm constantly low on ammo in Survival, but even with more enemies, it never really seems like he's low on Apocalypse.

Didnt have much problem with ammo Basically you have to depend on infighting and melee stealth as much as you can
