I first played Doom when I was about 7 back in 1997, it didn't have that contextual effect that you had with it but it certainly was a thing to behold. I really like these videos where people give off insights of games and experiences in the context that they lived through them. It's something I feel is sorely lacking in today's landscape of content creation... ironically, personality. You have that in spades though, keep it up.

Thoughts on Doom 64? Everyone thought Turok was the n64 fps to kill em all, 'till Bond, but I think Doom 64 held up way better. I like killing demonic monsters over biological ones any day, which sucks about new Dooms is they try and make them like mutants.

Interesting. So you had a decent PC for the time, which wasn't that cheap, then DOOM starts the trend to push hardware sales, you went to the store to buy another not so cheap part in order to play it. Quake did the same and pushed the dedicated GPU sales shortly afterwards. Looking back, if not for gaming, I wonder in what point we'd be today hardware-wise, not only for PCs, but in general. True that consoles were starting to push faster processors and graphic chips, but in a world where games never existed, only software applications, it makes me wonder.
