The only thing I find bad about this comic is that Webtoon decided to call it “Doom Breaker” and not the unofficial translation, “Reincarnation of the S*icidal Battle God.”

@@greylaw2546 but there are alot of webtoons like that? Weak Hero, Eleceed, Lookisim, Noblesse, Tower of God, The Gamer, Good Luck Hero, Sr. Frost, Bastard, Sweet Home, Your Throne, Remarried Empress to name a few. Long titles is much more common in manga.

I think what is great about this series and some other very “tropey” series like this is that despite having a lot of copycat elements they manage to craft a narrative that is a lot more interesting than a series like Solo Leveling in my opinion. The main character isn’t some loser who gets his power fantasy delivered. Despite being born into a really challenging situation he was the person who overcame it and became the final survivor in his original timeline. Now he has a chance to be given some perks and a leg up in order to save things. He isn’t a generic edgelord “I’ll do everything on my own” guy that was previously some dweeb a few months ago. He’s trying to save everyone and needs help from people to do so.

Yes, an intelligent person will use people and everything else they can to get their goals achieved. They won't just rely solely on their own power. If they're good people, they'll "use" them in a way that benefits both them and the others. And the mc of this series seems to be like this.

I've been waiting for you to talk about this one! I wanted to ask you to talk about it. And along with that, have you ever read Teenager Mercenary, The Advanced Player of The Tutorial Tower, or Villian to Kill? Because if you haven't I HIGHLY recommend all three of them. Each one is great in its own way.

Ive read villain to kill. In a way it's similar to Hero Killer, as both protagonists are supervillains with a vendetta against someone and they have interesting abilities to play around with. What differentiates Villain to Kill from Hero Killer is that Cassian, the protagonist of Villain to Kill, was once superhero, and his moral code is put to the test since villain superpowers are fueled by desire. The conundrum the protagonist goes through is more appealing to me, as I'm a sucker for superpowers that are correlated with emotions, something I rarely see in superhero media as a whole.

Thank you for introducing me to a new series. I had seen it around a few sites where I read manga/webtoons and and the cover never appealed to me. However, your video gave me different outlook on the series and I binged it all in a day. Lastly, I would like to recommend a webtoon I found recently called "Ex and Ash" it currently has 21 chapters . Hopefully you give it shot during your downtime, and it has elements of Hardcore Leveling Warrior

The plot is actually better than SL and ORV. While those two are undeniably good, they become repetitive and predictable as the plot progresses while Doom Breaker gets increasingly better and more intriguing...plus, with the other two series, the side characters are made in a way that forcefeeds you interest while doom breaker actually plants seeds of character growth within side and minor characters very early on(the moment they are introduced) with a lot of tie-ins to the major plot, such that, unlikable characters go through small arcs of charater development which helps the reader understand them better. So a slave rank character who crossed paths with Zephyr will eventually grow along with the plot and won't be a throwaway character after just 1 arc. Plus, it's a power fantasy type setting, however unlike most series in that genre Zephyr actually has emotions, understands human nature, has high IQ, and avoids fighting/grinding if there's a better option... he's a well grounded character, more realistic and relatable despite having more of an excuse to be 'cool' and 'cold-blooded' since he has lived through hell(he's like Saitama in that way lol, unlike Jinwoo who goes from some scrawny kid to a phycho-murderer because some statues scared him lol...JK). All just my opinion, of course. I've tried to find a web-novel or even light novel for this series but I couldn't, If there really is one I need help finding it.

Beter than solo leveling probably, but beter than orv I don't know. Orv is very long and it only recently finished its introduction at around chapter 50 after the throne got destroyed. The stakes are getting higher and the situations aren't the same as what the Mc read so he won't always know what's going on from now on, also the story will get even better later on, after all it has around 500 chapters it needs to finish and its not even at 100

In my opinion, stuff like this is definitely not deserving of being called "copies". So what if it has a system, is fantasy based, and the mc progresses really fast? That's just called a trope. As long as the direction of the story is taken in a unique direction, it won't be a copy. It will just be something of the same genre. You could make tons of stories with a system that are fantasy based, where the mc progresses really fast, while making them all totally different.
