I have a theory about why they decided to extract hells energy rather than turn to renewables: Because at least 1 of the mega-nerds in the corporation was told by a hot woman: "I'll sleep with you when hell freezes over" and the guy intends to hold her to it.

Fun fact: the BFG basically throws a fucking sun at the enemy. It's concentrated, superheated plasma that boils and pops enemies like a can of beans left in a campfire (don't do that unless you want to dodge flaming beans) and given how wide the area of effect is around the ball of plasma, the center scientifically HAS to be hotter than the surface of the sun. Canonically, the lore book says the internal plasma of the gun is kept at around 7000 Kelvin or about 12000°F. Oh yeah, and notice how the Doomslayer isn't affected by said mini-sun coming out of a gun in his hands, that means the Doomguy can literally hang out on the surface of the sun, at least for a time, without injury.

Just an fyi on the Mick Gordon controversy. The only person that Mick has actually named was the executive producer Marty Stratton, who is also the one that threw Mick under the bus in the first place that started the whole controversy. Nothing that Marty ever accused Mick of (in terms of his work ethic) was actually proven. Also, Mick has stated that people shouldn't boycott the game because of lot of hard-working and talented people worked on it and they should be celebrated for their achivements. The Creative Director Hugo Martin also seems like an incredibly nice and chill dude who did a bunch of streams where he played the game and talked with the community directly, which I find is an incredible rarity in the "AAA" game space.

My favorite thing about Doom Eternal is definitely the Marauder, for multiple reasons. Biggest being the VA for the Marauder (Ed Bosco, who also voices the Icon of Sin) absolutely loving when his friends would get annoyed fighting him. And for those fans of the Hazbin Hotel pilot, you’d recognize that name as the talking voice of Alastor.

Another channel that is somewhat similar to Maxor would be Martincitopants, his editing is also pretty insane (not as much as Maxors tho) and sometimes you even learn something new while watching.

Maxor is absolutely right about the lore btw. It's so insane and awesome that it's up there with souls lore and Warhammer 40k lore. I love it so much. This is my favorite game of all time

Talking about games with replay value, I would recommend Sacrifice, old RTS where the campaign has 5 different possible missions for each of the 10 mission "slots", and depending on the missions you do you will have different creatures and spells permenantly added to your arsenal, favorite game of all time.

Yeah, to simplify the Ancient Gods DLC: Basically the Dark Lord is the real God but did some fucked stuff so his angels trapped him and his second in command became the new God, separated the Dark Lord's Power which is Doomslayer. But once Doomslayer kills The Dark Lord, everything he made would die.

I totally agree, the Indi scene for games are exploding in the best way, but unfortunately behind boulders gate 3 were let go by Hasbro. Considering they where a small team that made a D&D game so good, it makes the current board game look like a joke, so i think it’s completely valid to assume that Hasbro wasn’t happy on being clowned on even if unintentionally.

I think a significant issue with game development happens when ownership is transferred out of the studio. Investors aren't necessarily after a good product like a kick starter, they're in it for that "sqweesh" foremost, or so far removed from the actual development it hardly matters. That will skew budgets on time, and funding. Why risk investing in an ambitious new game when you could release two CODs for similar cost and make more money? The silver lining is that the talent at the studios aren't serfs that come with the companies, so when they get bought out some may decide to bail and start over with a new indie studio.

Doom: Eternal and Doom(2016) are some of the greatest games ever made. They managed to become just as iconic as the originals. Definitely my first games to recommend to anybody.

Larian Studios was an indie company when they released Baldur’s Gate 3. So yes, BG3 could’ve gone into the indie category. But let’s be honest that would’ve been over the top.

This video actually got me to buy Doom Eternal when I saw it. Despite what he says, Maxor knows how to sell people on games.

I will say my personal experience with doom dials down to one word "therapeutic" basically I use is as a way to deal with my anger and honestly I thinks its a decent way to deal with anger (it depends on the person obviously) from my experience since I played doom 2016 and doom eternal both last year after every time playing it I found myself calm and as a result of became less of a person that easily gets angry (not that I was that easy to anger before but you know it helps keep me from bottling up frustrations and actually venting out my anger on demons) and plus it is always fun being like "Oh you think I'm locked in a room with all of you, no you ANTS ARE LOCKED IN A ROOM WITH ME", or well i guess more appropriately, "Oh your approaching me, instead of running away your coming towards me DOOM SLAYER". oh and as a persona fan well the joke really doesn't apply that much to 5 (which is where I started and played 5, 4, 5 royal, strikers, and 5 tactica). in 3 portable tho well lets just say if someone chose fem protag and romances a specific confidant they would be on a watch list of some kind so yeah. honestly my reaction to that joke was just "of course he makes that joke" which was the same reaction I had to the mha one in his Metal gear video. honestly i don't take offense ive just seen and heard the joke so many times i'm just tired of it. so no offense just meh

That's an interesting point about replay value in a bunch of games. A ton of newer or highly rated old school games I've played I played through them once, maybe twice on a harder setting depending on the game, and then put it away, never touching it again. Most games I've replayed in the last few years have mostly been AA or indie titles. Also, the point of the genre buster games is pretty accurate, too, to an extent. Genre bending isn't bad in and of itself, there are a lot of games that primarily handle one genre and are able to add some new mechanics to its core gameplay and maintain the same if not close to the same quality of their main gimmick. A great example of a game that tries and fails at the multiple play styles that I replayed not long ago was Conkers Bad Fur Day. It tries to have so many play styles that in the end its main gimmick, 3D platforming, isn't very good on it's own. Now this is the original N64 and damn near unplayable Rare Replay versions.The Live and Reloaded remake is superior in every facet gameplay wise but even with the much improved controls, trimmed down tedious side activities and gorgeous graphical overhaul, it's still a one and done game that blows its load in one playthrough. You've seen the furry animals cursing, doing horrible violence and crass toilet humor once you've seen it a thousand times. What you're left with is a mediocre platformer with too many other gimmicks tacked on for its main gimmick to be any fun to play. 5th and 6th generation platformer games were all sort of guilty of this, especially in their sequel games would toss in all sorts of different gimmicks like vehicle sections or more mini games. Looking at YOU Crash 3, Sly 3, Jak 3, Banjo Tooie hell let's toss in Rachet and Clank 3 too while we're at. But those were inoffensive compared to Conkers Bad Fur Day.

idk if you're still taking video recommendations from comments but Caddicarus' videos are phenomenally chaotic and worth your time. The Unholy World of Jesus Games is a fantastic intro to how he be, even if it's a feature-length video. Definitely something to react to in segments, and that'd be pretty easy since it has clear moments between games to review.

That "plot hole" is easy to fill. Time travel. The Doomslayer was sent back in time to Argent D'Nur. He's the same Doomguy from the classic series.

Demons Souls on its own (sure, it's a remake), Spiderman 2 (especially when DLC comes out), and NG+ in GOW Ragnarok and Forbidden West. I'll definitely be going back to Rebirth for NG+/Hard mode later on too, just need to let it settle a bit.

A great Example of a game with LOADS of replay replayability is TF2. That Sh@@ is 16 years old and it's still kicking ass. With more community game modes then any game in existence.

Doom Eternal is fantastic. Its been a while since I had that much fun with a game.

I definitely struggled with swapping the abilities and weapons in this game, but it was why they made the ammo carrying capacity so slow. I'm not Twitchy enough to play on the higher difficulties, I just want to blast demons.
