Күн бұрынThanks to a new mod for the prdoom+ release of Doom, we now have ray tracing support! The modder sultim-t gives us a chance to experience a new version of Doom that's not been seen before.

Doom is now starting to look like those renders on the back of D!Zone boxes. I was such a sucker back then.

Haha oh anything to sell a game. I remember not knowing quite how to feel when I got home, and actually saw what the game really looked like vs what the box showed... more than once!

Great video, man! Doom seems perfect for RT, I would love to see a version of Doom 3 with RT. They already have it for most things including VR. hah.

Yes Doom 3 would be amazing with RT. Those shadows and moody environment would be great. Maybe not as "easy" as bringing RT to some of the older titles but I bet we'll see it eventually!

Doom is the Ford Motel T of PC gaming. Some enthusiasts do all kinds of crazy stuff to it. Chopping the roof, etc. you know, the complete Hot Rod makeover. Some preferr it just the way it was back when. Me, I'd probably put a CD player in it.

The waste barrels give off way to much light and the shadow grading seems harsh plus some textures appear to not receive benefit like the red hell floor like on the final level of the shareware levels. Otherwise looks pretty legit. Been trying to do this with Sacrifice for some time. just got it to work well with Asheron's Call to even though I had to add a Triple Buffering argument to the INI.

That's tough! It depends on where you are in the world but most of the ones I've gotten have been from local marketplaces. People clean out their garage or closet and put it online for free or cheap. There is not single place to get one unfortunately, you just have to get lucky!

Yeah it's something else! Of all the retro games to get ray tracing this may be one of the best matches so far.

The look is distracting and too saturated. I prefer the original look.

The original look is indeed hard to beat but this feels nearly like a different game. If you have a chance to try it I highly recommend it!
