Headcanon: The song that Aegon ordered to be placed in valyrian steel dagger is made by Aenar after he left Valyria and made home in Dragonstone similar to Elendil's song/oath from Lord of the Rings after the last Faithful Numenoreans left Numenor and made home in Middle Earth.

I commented before (almost a year ago, wow) but am still listening and still in love with this song. "The rising smoke and smell of your perfume" is such an exquisite line - it seems simple, but conveys so much so powerfully and viscerally. I'm left breathless over the poetic skill in that line every time I hear it.

Haha I suppose I did, didn't I? 😅 I originally had a 3rd person narrative, like with Harrenhal, but then I remembered the lore video with the two lovers and something just clicked 🎶 I love those narrated lore bits. It'd be great if they did some for HotD as well, right?🤞

@RosemaryMoonriseMusic (🤞👀🤞) Also, this song gave the impression of another "daenys the dreamer" knowing the doom is upon them, but instead of escaping the calamity, they (& their love) simply to choose stay, and "perish hand in hand"

I imagined that a select few (one of which was the character in the song) knew something was coming as there was the prophecy of Lannister gold etc., I genuinely hope they shed light on what really happened though, would be great to know if she really dreamt or they just went to voluntary exile 😊

I had this scenario: aenar(daenys father) had some "issues" at court(or whatever the valyrians had) and chose exile(over execution), then his daughter tells him her "fabled dreams of doom" and to avoid the humiliation the Public would give em for whatever shit he did, he says "oh I'm NOT leaving cause of......that, but cause my daughter has foreseen Doom, we're leaving so we don't die......or something" Then the doom happens (12 years later)

Such a beautiful song. I am such a big fan of Game of Thrones and the prequel series House Of The Dragon and listening to this masterpiece has given me shivers and sensations down my spine. The lyrics of the song were beautiful, sad and hauntingly enchanting. You created a true masterpiece and I leave you a big thumbs up and a great thank you. Keep going with this stuff. It's wonderful. @Gabe_park Thanks Icarus! Yes, it's part of the GRRM world lore. There's a chapter in The World of Ice and Fire about The Doom and some bonus material on Blu-Ray narrated by the GoT actors, which is fab 👌
