This show is weird, wild, touching...I love it! And much crazier than Umbrella or X-Men...I mean...some of the main villains are Were-Butts! Literally Butts with little legs and a huge mouth!

also Umbrella Academy is created by Gerard Way who also wrote for The Doom Patrol. as for X-Men, the Doom Patrol appeared 3 months before. so Marvel could have been inspired by the set up or it could just be coincidence

It was and it is one of the best shows i ever watched, has funny and dramatics moments with tons of unique characters.❤

I love this show, actually there's barely any superhero stuff in it, it comes very late in the show. They still put villains in it but the storylines are all about the characters and their developments, that's it. They don't force themselves to put what we expect of superheroes like Marvel does, and they don't bother putting action scenes if the episodes don't need them. It's basically 4 seasons of trauma, weird-ass sci-fi, fantasy and sometimes horror, with a 5 star casting ^^ It's not the prettiest to look at but it's so fucking good, and the end is actually very depressing, I was just destroyed after the last episode.........

Henry Cavil had the Man of Steel movie which is a stand-alone Superman movie (I think) which is far less than enough but still, there was one.
