Lmao yeah I was actually thinking they should reboot Hexen too and pretty much just make a melee-focused, dark fantasy equivalent of Doom but this one works too.

Two of the devs did an interview, and the skullcrusher is apparently literally called the scullcrusher. So Shieldsaw or Buzzshield is probably not far off.

Hopefully there's still a lot of movement options. The shield bash and the flail showed different movement besides just walking. Really want the dash to return, but we'll see what else they have for this game. Also the Doom mech and flying a dragon is pretty fucking awesome

IDK if bringing back the dash fits in lore-wise. But I really hope they at least bring back the wall climbing & level verticality back from Eternal

@@fahim102 the dash could be something to do with his godly abilities rather than from his suit. This is supposed to be when he was at the peak of his power, so I'm expecting the devs are still hiding some really cool stuff for later

Apparently someone on the team said this DOOM would be like driving a monster truck rather than an F1 car like Eternal, so I'm guessing we have less movement abilities but more ways to just plow through demons, which I'm fine with.

@norsehorse84 I think this might feel more like 2016's movement than Eternal. I loved Eternal and I love how frenetic and fast paced it is but I'm sure even if this is a little slower they know what they're doing to make it feel good without making it feel like a "downgrade" in movement Parrying seems to be the new gameplay mechanic that replaces the chainsaw. So I'm assuming if you get parries you'll get more health and energy from enemies

it's from when he escaped hell the first time and ended up in a strange fantasy universe but the demons followed him and he rose through their ranks to become a warrior king. also this is back when the angels/maykrs were the good guys.

@@sanchikotjendrakasih9138 hope they remember that part of their lore and actually put it in the game. Technically the ending should be a last stand fight with your fellow Sentinel bros while the slayer just keeps on fighting until they drop a temple on him to knock him out.

The lack of dashes(without a shield) worries me quite a bit, this was one of my favourite movement mechanics in eternal. Besides that - on the seventh heaven, thanks to shield, morning star, Night Sentinel mech(finally!), fur cape, medieval esthetic, soundtrack and cyber-demon-dragon

@@onepunchman4444 I sad that’s lack of dashes is a concern - not a problem. Developers proved in eternal that they can reshape arena shooter into something new, and if they will be able to realise more “heavier” and “knight-like” gameplay without making it a downgrade to previous game - I’m all for it! And I prefer to believe that developers will shake industry with new masterpiece

@@MagnusArchitectOfFateshield probably replacement of chainsaw which understandable because chainsaw not exist at those civilization. What Slayer wear also a bit different with suit he use in Eternal so lack of dash is replaced by others. It is past story after all.

⁠⁠⁠⁠⁠⁠⁠@@MagnusArchitectOfFateImo it really shouldn’t be much of any of a concern considering the replay ability of eternal, could be similar in pace with all the mechanics. Still have maybe a year left till it’s out, there still perfecting and tweaking the gameplay loop, they’ve proved themselves so I agree with your final points. This’ll def be my goty. Can’t wait to dive into new mechanics

@@Possfur Yes they are but only as far as developers under Xbox Game Studios are concerned and then selected few games from Bethesda (like Starfield) and then paid 3rd party exclusives like Contraband (of which we havent heard anything since the announcement trailer)
