Sarcasm aside, the first thing I'd recommend is adding an armature that distributes force through the shoulders and pelvis. Then you could attach springs to take up some of the massive weight of the fist (kinda like how a garage door is counterbalanced by springs). That would make it easier to swing around. It would swing with less force, but the real force is supposed to come from the pistons anyway. The armature could also help distribute the recoil of extending the pistons and smashing the fist into something - that way, it would rock you back on your feet instead of breaking your arm, which is always a plus. Properly braced, you could dump the recoil into the ground under your feet. Probably too late for this build, but might be useful for your next large, heavy object. Cheers

If you're referring to Shuri's "Kitten Claws" then they might just be really loud speakers (because that's technically what they are) but I feel like the Hacksmith will somehow cram a plasma cannon into each one, because that would kind of deliver the desired effect.

It’s already extended when hitting the target. Not implementing the impact of the pneumatics per say at all. Improve it by having a quick release diaphragm style valve to really dump the air quickly into the cylinder.Drill out the cylinder ports about 60% bigger. Then put a impact sensor on the top of the fist . Adjust your trigger timing accordingly.
@xxcrazycrocxx4486
@xxcrazycrocxx4486 6 жыл бұрын
Why don't you combine the doom-fist (except make it more practical, lighter and less flashy) and your exolegs, and kinda combine them and implement small thing like joints at the elbows and knees that help your arms and legs support the weight and make it faster and more efficient, It may take a while and a lot of money but just make it a series on making a full combat suit. I think it would be really awesome to see you and your team make something that could make even the weakest human be able to lift 2,000 pounds and punch through solid concrete. I am not an engineer but i do have some theories on how this would work. Including hydraulic joints kinda like the hulk buster suit (since you like to draw inspiration from superheros) but I would love to see it tried. It would be a cool series.

Also it depends on when the cylinders are extended because in some of the punches they were fully extended before the fist made contact. The best way to fix that would be with a small sensor on the front of the fist that would cause it to fire on impact.

NZ 420 the imperial system in machining is a nightmare, all of the fractions and unbelievable. I have a drill which is 15/64", why? I really don't know
@OU81TWO
@OU81TWO 6 жыл бұрын
@AF Bennett 15/64 is just a fractional equivalent to a decimal value. I could ask the same stupid question for metric. If I want to get a tight fit for a .250in pin I would make a .251in hole. Nice and simple. If I want to get that same fit in metric I would need 6.3500mm pin and a 6.3754mm hole. Why? I could argue that .001in increments in imperial are smaller and more precise round numbers than the equivalent in metric which would equate to .0254mm. Then you could argue that .01mm is more precise, and blah, blah, blah. They're just numbers and both mean the same thing in a different way. Nothing to be scared of.
@afbennett3038
@afbennett3038 6 жыл бұрын
OU812 I’m not saying doing it in thousandths is bad because actually it is easier but it’s annoying when you looks at your plans and it gives it all in complicated fractions and you have to calculate the value of them when if it was in mm then there wouldn’t be this problem or even if it was just given in thousandths it would be easier.

Here we witness the majestic Rock-dweller in its most active period of life. Not much is known of its kind besides their tendancy to step outside of oblivion and make themselfs known to those they deem worthy. It is a wonderfull event when the Rockdweller decides their cold dark confines of the "Dank side of the web" are getting just a bit too over rated and jumps into other subscribable possibilities. This rare sight is one surely not to be missed and must be enjoyed, but only from a respectable distance, for the Rock-dweller emerging from its former well known surounding may take the agressive defencive stance at any sign of danger in its new unfamiliar suroundings Which for any smaller prey means complete domination of the comment foodchain.....

Le proof is in le pudding: out of those 2600 lbs of pressure...you can only use the combined WEIGHT of the steel fist and balanced bodymass. Which equates to about 200lb (taking into account the acceleration when it hits). Might aswell use a 50 lb dumbell and smash things with it. To make this ACTUALLY work, it must actuate the pistons VERY precisley before impact. But its in the order of milliseconds, way less for any avarage human to trigger
6 жыл бұрын
When he would time it correctly (which he isn't), it would add a little tiny bit of extra energy to the punch. But currently' it seems more like it is is making it worse than better because it is bringing him out of balance.

That's because the cylinders aren't just pushing the fist forward, they're also pushing the arm backwards. All it's really doing is making the forearm longer just before he hits a target. This isn't to say that it's bad. It does a doomfist-like thing, so I'm okay with ignoring the ignoring of physics for now... wait... what?

Why dont you solve the weight problem by attaching that doomfist to your exoskeleton? I think that would be a better show rather than watching you having hard times just to lift it up.

You guys are always pushing the limits of what we think we can do and I LOVE it!!!!! But because of that I also gotta ask.... any chance of us getting to see the full Doomfist? Because in game he has his entire arm a covered by it. I cant help but think of both how much easier to punch with if you could figure out how to properly make it, as well as how awesome it would be!!!
@shaness112233

Yeah, he's already scavenged parts off of his old exoskeleton. He might as well rebuild it to punch instead of to lift like it was originally.

Just a thought, it would've been nice to see what the fist could do without the propulsion just to visually measure the effectiveness of it, but solid vid as always!
@Harshad_01
@Harshad_01 6 жыл бұрын
Uhh there wouldn't be any difference in the effectiveness because the air cylinders are not doing anything. All he is doing is swinging a powerfist shaped sledge hammer. The air cylinders are only for the wow factor. In terms of the current design, the cylinders firing would apply an equal force on his hand and the powerfist in opposite directions (Newtons third law). Since his hand is way lighter that the powerfist, it is much easier for this force to slow his hand's forward motion instead of accelerating the powerfist. How to overcome this problem? Make the powerfist much much lighter, increase the mass of his hand/ the force his hand can resist or use something that does not rely on pushing against his hand to propel the powerfist eg rockets Feel free to delete my comment like you did with my previous one where me and a few others pointed this out.

great build! But I think it would be much more efficient if the whole mass would be at your arm and not at the fist. Because now these pistons have to accelerate the whole mass and they have nothing were they can push against.
@jed23ify

Joschi agreed! I think he was mostly thinking of the aesthetic cool factor before actually thinking of the practicality of it all.
@AugustAllgood
@AugustAllgood 6 жыл бұрын
Seriously. It's cool that it has all of that potential force, but you can't even come close to using it because it's man-powered. Since it can't react against the user with that much force, the pistons don't serve much purpose... then again, I'm very tired and maybe I'm thinking about this wrong!

John Hunter you think much to simple because the pistons push your hand back and not the fist forward because your arm is much lighter than the fist and you aren't strong enough to hold that force
