An HM-2 with even more low end… What a time to be alive

Kinda reminds me of the early mayhem guitar and bass tone on songs like chainsaw gutsfuck

I love the concept of this. Every other HM-2 clone I've seen seems to think more knobs is the way to go. This one is basically like, "Fuck it. You're just going to do to the Swedish Death Metal thing anyway so we're only giving you control over the amount of distortion and take care of the rest for you." And it sounds awesome too. If I wasn't broke right now, I'd spring for one.

This is my favorite distortion pedal…ever. Hands down. It’s versatile for metal. I can play anything from black metal, to grimy 70’s stoner rock like Pentagram, to Entombed riffs, and punishing modern doom/sludge/drone material. It’s worth the money threefold. You can adjust the tone on your amp of with an equalizer pedal, but honestly with the one knob, it restrains you from making crappy EQ choices. Sometimes less is more. 🤘🏽🤘🏽🤘🏽 I give it a 666/10 rating.

I could be mistaken, but on Pallbearer's 2010 demo it sounds like "Gloomy Sunday" has an HM-2 on the guitars, or at least a tamed HM-2.

I recently wrote a stoner metal song using a HM-2 sound. The way the distortion is borderline fuzz actually works really well, I just had to turn down the highs a little.

How often do these sell out? I need to get my hands on one. Love the way it sounds on bass. The hm-2 was the first pedal I ever bought. I got a made in Taiwan version for $20 at a pawn shop. I still have it today and it's basically broken at this point but I won't get rid of it

Got mine today, it's just outstanding. Taming the high end how they did really makes it for me, with my HM2, Wurm and Left Hand Wrath the chainsaw sound is uncontrolably wild as one might expect. But with this thing, I can run a boost into it to tighten it up and get a perfect At the Gates/Bloodbath sort of sound that isn't really possible with my other HM2 inspired pedals. This is a must have for anyone wanting that "blended" HM2 sound that still has defined pick attack and chugs a little.

OH man what an amazing idea. ALWAYS loved the tone of entombed and the bands using that crushing chainsaw tone but could be a little bigger and a little less harsh. Looks like this is THE PEDAL

You said you were looking for some doom with a chainsaw tone, check out the band Krux. Lead guitarist Fredrik Åkesson is definitely using some major chainsaw.
