I fast forwarded to around the 20 minute mark because I really could not give a flying you know what about the Eurovision . As regards Judge Nolan , having paid attention to his judgments over the years it seems to me that he finds it much easier to apply sentences to working class Irish people than he does to other groups .

This is complete conjecture on my part: I have a terrible feeling that there is a massive paedophilia syndicate in Ireland and that a lot of high up people are involved; and we'll never truly find out how insidious and far-reaching it really is. All because of the people involved. We get news reports of convictions that are presented as just one individual person; but I think it's all part of a larger cabal. Again, it's just a feeling I get when I read about or see certain people.

It's an objective fact that we are importing people and cultures who are much more comfortable with and familiar with violence than the Irish people are. I've lost count of the number of real-life instances where the Gardaí are informed of a crime, and the response is to "just drop it". The examples I draw on, include illegal dumping (photos were taken whilst it took place), theft of a bicycle and destruction of public property. It is naive in the extreme to think that the Gardaí will act on every crime reported to them. They simply don't.

Judge Nolan has a track record of handing out very lenient sentences, and to offset this we should have mandatory minimum sentences. (Btw, as regards the sound, I think Sarah got the “bad” mic this week.)

The idea of having an opinion is that you don't have to see things the same somebody else ,and no matter what your opinion is it important to you .

I am so worried for our future. The posters are up and I see none worth to vote for in Limerick. None of them have b.... to advocate for the necessary changes before it is too late. I don't want my kids to be surrounded by darkvador women and men equivalent. You could argue that it is only outfit but to me it is passive agressive for us to move back to medieval time mindset. After listening to that I just want to go back to what Sarah said about judge Nolan and why people are furious with him, it's not based off just this one off sentencing, but historically simular sentences. He's got a bias of being lenient on certain crimes. Great listen though, really enjoy this channel.

Viewing child porn or gross images of child sexual abuse is the thin end of the wedge. Similarly, if viewing adult porn, the inclination is to seek out harder and viler material and this increases a likelihood of trying to re-enact such content in real-life.

Completely disagree with John McGuirk that pedophilia is a sexual orientation and to equate it to heterosexual or homosexual is wrong. It isn't something a person is 'born with' but rather a disorder emanating from deep childhood trauma, most likely sexual abuse. Not every abused youngster goes on to abuse others and that is down to different expressions - some internalise their wound while others externalise it onto innocents. Nurture plays a vital role in how a perspective on the world is formed in our early years which is why protecting children from harm is paramount in order to give them the best start in life.

Maybe a distinction should be made more often between the term "pedeophile" used in reference to an involuntary orientation versus the term "child abuser." A heterosexual man is attracted to women but does not have to rape them - even if he is celibate and frustrated. Surely it is behavior that is the issue - not orientation - and if someone abused children not because they are a pedophile but because they are a sadist, their sexual orientation would be irrelevant. Perhaps people should be able to think, feel, love and hate whatever they want once they behave themselves. Are their inner lives their own business once they remain "inner"?

I think Sarah and John, you missed something about the sentencing of the guy who had the child porn. He worked in the department of justice, so he knew exactly what to say and do in order to get away with it. I completely agree with the idea of castration, however, I would use an entirely different method.
