I remember playing the video game "The Regiment" and it has a hostage rescue moment I'll always remember. I get to the final room with hostages in, breach it and see a guy running towards me with a gun in his hands, I shoot him and it's only as he's falling dead do I notice his mouth has tape over it and he has his hands taped around an unloaded gun. I've never seen a game do anything like since that one

Only took like two minutes. Crazy to think that the guy incharge of this enemy cell very well could have just gotten off the phone with one of them and felt every confidence that they were still in play while the good guys were systematically breaking down this hostile force in detail.

I don’t half mind the ‘One Plan’ achievement but honestly, there’s nothing more satisfying than plotting out a perfect step by step approach that takes any between 15 minutes to an hour for a fraction of silky smooth footage on replay. This is the best kind of planning.

One of the best gameplay yet from the entertainment point. Surprisingly fun to see you make little errors and deal with them. Gives it a nice touch.

If it helps, when you were clearing those last 2 rooms, you were having issues getting fili to select the kick door option, What you could do is give him a move order through to the other side of the door, this will prompt an automatic door kick action where he's standing, you can then delete the move order and the kick door action will remain, having him kick the door and roll out automatically. So you don't have to screw around trying to inch him forward so you can select the path to add a door kick action, leaves the operator in better cover too.

I’d like to see a mission where there’s either none or few hostiles in the game but when you secure the hostage an enemy QRF responds and they start assaulting the building while you’re trying to get out

I get so invested in starting and stopping overhead tactical gameplay. Goes to show you don't need 8 bajillion teraflops per megafart or whatever for AAA graphics. Gameplay IS and always will be king!

I loved that right when he said something about staying quiet, his guy smashed through the only window that wasn't broken yet.

You're not the only military veteran showcasing this awesome game on youtube, I've seen a few other vets who play in a very similar style as you and make roughly the same decisions that you do on each map but you're the only one who actually explains why you do the things you do. Applying the knowledge gained from watching your playthrough has signiicantly boosted my chances of earning a 3-star rating in this game. Thank you and keep them coming.

Hey CPG! If your operator is close to a door, select the operator, hover your mouse on the door and the appropriate door actions will appear. You can also tell if they can flash/nade around the corner if the little circle indicating their position has a smaller white circle inside it. Anyways, I bought the game from you last week and just finished 3 starring everything, it's a blast and I'm super glad to have discovered your channel!

A small "strat" I found when playing silent: shooting out windows sometimes alerts the rest of the insurgents (it seems to be random, and distance doesn't seem to matter on some maps), so I have an operator lookpick then open the door on the edge of the doorway, and one or two operators facing towards the door to shoot the insurgent in the corridor.

I played that last weekend in multiplayer with a friend. Highly enjoyable map

8:26 you made 2 strategic faults: 1-the first that breaking the window will make a noice & alert the enemies you coming to their room. 2-the yellow guy had risk of getting killed if the enemy opened the door in the TV room & get out of it, if he sees you he gets in direct combat situation & you will have a really dumb casuality

Pretty cool vids. Never thought this would excite me, but it is teaching me. Now, I always thought there should be a better way of clearing a room. Lets say in paintball (or even something like R6S) the enemy is completely expecting me and guns are up. If I enter the room clear deep then clear right, the guy on the left is going to immediately put shots on me. Then maybe the next guy clearing left can get him, but again is expected. It seems this is always a super dangerous move no matter what. I presume the only way we have to minimize this risk is with intelligence (cams to see how many which corner) or a flash bang/grenade to clear out the immediate left/right threat so that there is time to deal with it (like done in this video with the last room. Let's say between these two events (paintball and R6S) I don't have a grenade or paintball to deal with the immediate threat. Whats then the next best way to deal with corners such as these?

Very nice stuff. A few things you could've done better: 1) Reload your weapons 2) @6:06 you could've get close to the norhten border of the map and check what's to the west of the building. Looks like a very good place for someone to smoke in 3) at 8:40 there was no reason to bring "outside" assaulter inside. "Inside" assaulter could've backed to a place between left and middle window while "outside" one could've pie most of that room from outside. 4) To me it seems like kicking door open has no advantages over opening it by hand and it leaves our boi pointing his ass at the enemy after he done his mighty ushiro. Btw while I was watching this one for the first time it had 8 views and 9 likes which is a weird ratio.

Hey! I just recently started playing and can’t figure out some controls. How do you make them look with the blue line so they stay looking? Using the basic orange lines a ton gets a bit annoying. Sorry if that doesn’t make any sense, I can try to edit it to make more sense if needed.

Best way I found to run this one is to place multiple breaching charges from the get go. Large wall charges on the top door and bottom right door. Place a slap charge on the top right window as well. There's multiple secure rooms in the building, so there's no way the hostage is being kept in the hallway. Detonate the bottom right charge and your two assaulters clear that section of the hall. One second later, detonate the top right window charge. Everyone in that room will be turned around and you've got back shots on all of them. Looking through that window you can clear the entire room. Move those two assaulters back to the top door and breach. Then have the bottom team clear the bottom left room, and the top team clear the kitchen and bathroom. Go with heavy armor, mk18's and hollow points. Loud and fast and you can knock the whole thing out in under 30 seconds on the timer.

From where you spawn if everybody puts down a wall shot, the hostage survives, just run in grab him and walk out with all remaining angles covered

Tip- shift+ right click makes a unit watch an area indefinitely until he has to change or do another action

You can click the actual letter of the GO code on your keyboard to activate it, you are doing fine, but I feel like it could be a lot easier to do that.

Breaks through a window, generating unnecessary noise with TWO OPEN WINDOWS RIGHT BESIDE HIM? Doesnt just stack up a door when he knows the enemies are looking AWAY from the door? Doesnt enter and scout the rooms using cameras to find and isolate enemy combatants, reducing the time the hostage spends in danger? I completed this in 49 fuckin seconds without a single injury or going loud at any point during the mission... And I havent had an ounce of fuckin "combat experience" or knowledge in cqb theory whatsoever.... Is the shit about cqb theory a joke orr...? The tactics here make no god damn sense..
