If you didn’t understand this, you have a short attention span, are lazy, and don’t have any care in the world for even the most minor details. First: he accepted an $18 dollar dash, and said “patience is the name of the game. Second, he said “I declined tho smaller orders” If you haven’t started doordash yet, and know nothing about it, then you should know it cost on average $3-$5 per gallon of gas, and the average mpg (miles per gallon) is roughly 18. To make money with doordash, if you start with a full tank of gas, and have let’s say 4 orders in a day (on the low end for an example) and those orders are like follows: 1. Chick fil a: $4.70 total 10 miles 2. Mcinalds: $7.97 total 12 miles 3. Popeyes: $3.40 total 9 miles 4. Wendy’s: $2.40 total 6 miles Assuming gas is $4 per gallon, your expenses for 37 miles (18 mpg) will be $8.06 and total earnings - expenses is $18.47-$8.06=$10.41 Let’s say it took you about an hour total. You just worked for $10.41/ hour. Plus what you have to spend for traveling between dashes

You can only decline orders when it’s very busy. Otherwise they will make you wait like a dog. making you make less money per hour so just bite the bullet do some of the fucking orders you don’t want to do and move on with life. A lot of time you accept a low-paying order, but then you arrive at the store and then they send you another delivery from the same store making it makes sense. They will pair up non-tipping customers with tipping customers. This allows for the app to make more profit and to pay drivers the most they can believe it or not. It’s called dollar cost averaging.

I make between $150-200 a day sometimes more if it’s real busy and have never accepted an order under $5😂 unless I need to hit a trip promotion and running out of time, uber eats will sometimes do extra $200 for 60 trips on the weekend or weekdays so then I’ll accept low paying orders if I need to so I can for sure hit my promotion. However I’ve accidentally done no tip or orders under $5 from accepting a double order that’s high paying yet turns out one customer was tipping $10-12 and the other $0-2. However I’ll never accept a order under $5 first😂 waste of my time

What's sad is that the customer has to pay $5+ fees on top of hidden extra cost added to the food cost of the restaurant menu prices plus having to give a tip. I've ended up paying over $10-$15 more on an order that had I picked it up myself could of saved that much money. Unless your sick and not able to get out and really need it brought to you in a pinch it's OK but the cost is too much for regular use. I could see door dash charging only a $2 charge an order and then customers tip the driver. Then it's affordable to the customer. But what I don't like is you sign up to deliver in an area and it sends you orders to pick up on areas you didn't want. If you keep declining orders like that then you get sent less. It's like your being penalized for not picking up one's you didn't want. Also customers should have to tip a minimum of $1 on small orders and a minimum of $2 on larger orders. Too many people aren't tiping in lower income areas. If you can't tip you shouldn't order. Customer's are made to pay for dash their fee automatically so it should be the same for the tip. Drivers use their ⛽️. I'm not a driver. I just know others who have. People have had dashers not choose their order to pick up and they never get it. I've had a dasher pick my food up from a restaurant and not deliver it and door dash has had to refunded it but I still didn't get the food I waited an hour for. I stopped ordering because I never know if it's gonna get delivered especially after 7pm. Door dash should make it mandatory for delivery drivers to deliver in the area they live in and in nearby neighborhoods and can only pass on an order 1 time in an hour. Then these orders wouldn't get ignored.

No. Just lowers your acceptance rating. Only affects you if you want Top Dasher. I have a low AR and get great paying orders regularly

Depends on your market. If it's quiet and you decline too many orders they def cut you off and stop and sending you offers for 15-20 minutes because they can. When it's busy though makes no difference you can decline as many as you like and they will just keep coming because the delivery apps need you more than you need them

I get these type of orders on Tuesdays. Don’t ask me why, but my area is busier on Tuesdays just as Saturdays 😁👍 Sunday, Monday and Thursdays are for grocery delivery, Tuesdays are exclusively food delivery, Wednesdays, Fridays and Saturdays are for both. Know your market people!

Here’s the kicker on that. I did the decline thing last night until a satisfactory order came up. Then. Towards The end of the night I had a café Rio order come up for $2.50 I declined it as well. 30 seconds later that same order came back up I noticed it was only a mile and a half away so I said all right I’ll do it luckily in the notes it said you will find your tip under the mat! An extra eight bucks what a good surprise! I’m wondering now I know these are probably few and far between but how many orders am I declining are there hidden tips!??

Yup decline low tip orders all these tricks are really known by most. Even the customers since they watch KZfaq. So say you order 5 flats of water. You better tip huge or some poor new dasher usually a smaller woman gets stuck with it. Tip minimum or low it might take forever to get.

Just depends how far your going outside a good zone. If your traveling 5 miles fir 5 bucks. Just to travel back 5 miles to a good zone. You need at least 2 bucks a mile to cover your time and gas to return

Thanks for sharing because some new dashers don't know this. I just learned this too. But I also check to see if it's one or 2 orders for the price of one. I hate getting 2 orders, both fir the same restaurant, only to see that one pays $3 for delivery and the other is $15. I quickly decline the $3 order.

OK, first of all, I don't have car insurance. I just drive around. Second of all, health insurance is very expensive. Don't even think about paying for that with this little delivery job. Third of all, I'm going to college to get my degree. There's no way you're going to put anything into retirement with this thing. and fourth, the only thing you should be paying for is gas. as far as wear and tear goes, that happens to any car.

Yeah, for some reason people think in terms of how much is enough, and apparently nothing is ever enough, so I'm steady picking up them orders they declining and while they sitting for 15 min to weed out an order I done picked them 3 up and made that 10 15 bucks and then high dollar orders on top of that. You will get high dollar orders, the algorithm seems to favor higher ratings of certain parameters bc, my acceptance rate stays over 95 percent, 100 percent completion, 96 on time or early. I get priority over a ton of ppl daily bc of my rating, but I'll still pick up small orders bc there's bigger orders the algorithm is trying to throw at me. Last night I did a 3 dollar order took me 10 miles away, ten min later, In that same drop off location is a 15 dollar order 3 miles total. Then a hefty tip on top of that. It will set you up for success. I never end a day with less than 200. Sometimes I call it early at 350.

I stopped dashing over three months ago because the market was saturated but after a friend advised me to buy a doordash bot I never struggle for orders. 400 a day is easy money now. . I figured even if I ran 25 $15 orders, I’d make decent money.

I do it all the time. I generally get paid an average of $20/hrs. If I accept everything I'm offered the average is between $10-15/hr.

I consider turn around time, heavily. What are the things you look at as important factors for accepting an order?

It all depends on the market, I have two towns with great restaurants and a highway that is wide open that I can ping pong orders from 8 miles 15 dollar payouts is good for me because I can grind three out in an hour. Or I could do 4 orders for around 7 or 8 dollars in town and be driving all throughout town with lots of stop and go so that means worse mpgs and more wear and tear on my vehicle.

Thank you! I dash for DoorDash and sitting around waiting for a $10 order and declining others is exactly how you make less money. I dealt with the small payments and now that I’m a top dasher I get 2-3 mile orders for $8 but my acceptance rate is 100% and that’s why I get more money every order for having that acceptance rate. This guys probably got a 1% acceptance rate and doesn’t realize DoorDash can just replace him 😂

One question what happens when my phone over heats and it ends up effecting my gps performance such as lagging and going off route?? What’s ur best on the spot fix? Like air cons and can I use normal gps on the Navman to get there without an over heating phone?

good to know i just started yesterday accepting everything that came my way. made 150 in 9 hrs over 2 days ( just testing the app) i declined my first today for 2.50 3 miles out of the way of a delivery i was already heading too. any tips would help while i do this till my other job is up and running again

Don't door dash if you aren't gonna take any order you get. Some people can't tip. Some people don't have cars or can't drive. Your job is to deliver food and if you can't get a different job. There is no such thing as a clown order.

I always tip. However, once I had only enough for a pizza and couldn’t tip. I felt horrible. Then I ordered pizza again from a local place. My pizza was $45 and I had $100 bill. He had no cash. So I gave him 55 tip and I felt sooo happy to see him smile and so grateful.

I really wish I was in a less saturated market for this. I have never seen an $18 offer unless it was 20-30 miles one way.. We just don't see this here, I will say though that Uber Eats will at least continue raising their base pay until it's acceptable and they don't punish us through some dumb AR rating. I have learned in a very short amount of time that I hate DD with a fiery passion.🤦

I got an order today from a really good grill near by. Dd said 7 miles...n quoted me 16 bucks..but I saw they had 3 pretty good dinners..so I thought it could possibly be more. Easy order..took me 9 mins to get there and it closed out at 25 bucks. So yes this could be good because the miles may be quick..all freeway miles..they ordered multiple things which means it may be higher then what u accepted it at. I mean I'd take it. Looks like it may be a good order to me. Red Robin in my area when I pick it up is usually very good. They tip me well and they are almost always leave at my door.

I used to deliver for a busy as hell all hours of the day pizza place. If we even had a 1 made on an order it was just another bump in the road on to the next. Truth is, Im a dasher now, and I don't decline anything, mostly bc if your acceptance rating is high, you may get an order for 2 dollars that takes you 10 miles away, that 2 dollars almost covers gas to get there and then some. Then you pick up other stacked orders as you go, they will still pop up. And then they get you a high dollar order to go along with them. It's awesome to say the least. Most people only want to wait for that one good order which may take 10 15 min to weed out, meanwhile all those orders in that 15 min, I done picked up bc of my 5star super accepting attitude, and made that 15 bucks while you sitting on yo azz!! (Not you J/S)

Uber Eats and Doordash are a lot like fishing. A lot of times you get nothing, minnows or a rotting boot. If you stay patient and don't quit you'll get the lunkers.
