People just really hold on to that idea so they can use it to shame people for how they dress. You never hear people call each other children for wearing shorts even though it's been commonplace for children to wear them since the French revolution.

I work at a gas manufacturing plant and we have something very similar to those screen badges with a panic. Button on so if a leak happens and the alarms don't go off and you start to feel light headed you can get peoples attention the other use is the screens display display you'd name and employee number for security on site because we deal with alot of flammable gas its great for fast identification and displays your picture . We have even got RFID tags built in for higher security areas that track who is walking in and out by detectors on the door frames they have many other uses so very useful and can easily switched from person to person if someone leaves and a new hire starts

I work in the prison system and, its not an urban legend. Inmates used to sag their pants in order to let others know that they've tried 'it' The ones that wear the pants below the cheeks are the ones that like 'it' where as the ones that wear the pants halfway on the cheeks are willing to try 'it' (hopefully y'all know what I'm insinuating)

Ship per the origin of sagging was that in the old days when you had more than one child the younger child often had to wear hand me downs. Usually the older sibling was bigger so the clothes were ill fitting. The prison thing is an adaptation for other purposes
