I kinda wish I lived in Japan. Being a North American Doraemon fan is pretty hard. For context, there was once a Doraemon English dub that aired on Disney XD around 2014-15. The dub had about 2 seasons and then was ultimately cancelled. The character's names were also changed (except Doraemon). Nobita > Noby/Nobi Shizuka > Sue Suneo > Sneech Gian > Big G The dub was airing re-runs around 2017 on their new block (I believe it was named "Anime Block" or something). This was how I found what would be one of my most favorite fictional characters of all time, even right next to the likes of SpongeBob (an American cartoon that could be compared to the likes of Doraemon's popularity in Japan). After the block aired for the last time the dub never aired or ran reruns again. There is a community of people that make English Fandubs for Doraemon though, but there's also a British Doraemon dub that aired around the same time, also containing the US names of the characters, however unlike the US dub some episodes have been lost, kinda like Doraemon's 1973 anime. However there is stuff to be happy about. The Stand By Me Doraemon movie had an English dub around 2015. And then, during 2019, something that I didn't expect happened. We got our first EVER Doraemon game in the states. It was basically just Harvest Moon, but Doraemon. Still tho I was so happy to see this. Unfortunately the voice clips just keep the Original Japanese voices. BUT, GUESS WHAT HAPPENED NEARLY 2 YEARS LATER? YUP! We finally got the English voice actors doing new voices for Stand By Me Doraemon 2! And I thought I'd never expect it...It made me so happy even. Also fun fact, did you know that Doraemon is also popular in India? Yeah, it's pretty hard to believe but it's true. Anyways, I'm finished with writing down this really huge comment because I'm almost certain that this is the biggest comment I've written ever.
