Watch this GOES East timelapse of Dorian from Aug. 29, 2019 - just a day after the tropical system became a hurricane - until Sept. 3, 2019, when the dangerous storm began to pull away from the Bahamas and headed for the U.S. mainland.

the eye literally came to a stand still...it just kept spinning at the same spot for like one whole day.. imagine being stuck inside a washing machine for like 24 hr ..

Will never forget this one - it’s literally like it had a mind of its own stalling like that. I also remember getting hit by it here in Maine when it was a tropical storm

Hurricane Dorian was incredible, will be retired. Florida thankfully was spared but Dorian still devastated, the Bahamas, Carolinas, and Canada.

Despite The Tragedy, It Could’ve Been Worse If It Slammed Into Miami With Those Crazy Winds. 185 mph or even 190 mph if the waters are warm enough, hundreds or even thousands could’ve been killed and monetary loss could’ve been one of the most costliest if not even the most costliest storm on record.

I have never seen a cat 5 become stationary for that long it just got 90 miles from florida coast and just stopped weird almost like U,S used HARPP to stop it from hitting Florida's coast by creating a H-pressure out in front

You can tell how poor nations are through their use of electricity. Haiti is the darkest, so the fewest lights are found there. 11 million people, almost totally in darkness. Then comes Cuba--another 11 million, a few pinpricks of light and Havana. Then the Dominican Republic--10 million, and there's a bit more light. Santo Domingo, for example, is not the only large cluster of lights. Then there's Puerto Rico--3 million and lit up as can be. The whole island seems to be awash in light. Puerto Rico also happens to be the richest island. Then Florida, with her 20 million, and lights EVERYWHERE. Lit up like a Christmas tree.
