I love that they left that little mess-up in the movie at 1:00. This whole scene is just so real and wholesome.

It’s weird. There was a time when Arthur Godfrey was one of the most famous men in America. Mostly forgotten today.

His reputation was seriously damaged when he fired the up-and-coming popular young singer Julius LaRosa during a live broadcast of one of his shows in 1953. He also fired other people that he worked with and had a very dominating personality off camera. But he did some very good things as well. He was a mixed bag like most people are. But he was stubborn to a fault and wouldn't admit when he was wrong except when it came to promoting smoking after he developed serious health problems because of it. I think it's also possible painkillers he may have been taking for physical ailments had a negative effect and made him more irritable.

The Glass Bottom Boat (alternate version 2) Doris Day All aboard, all aboard On the glass bottom boat It's the greatest show that was ever afloat Take a ride on the tide with the guide and see The way out wonders of the DEEP BLUE SEA (c) The deep blue sea, the deep blue sea There's a lot to see, in the deep blue sea The sailfish sail and the blowfish blow COCKles & mussels alive-alive-o The hermit crab, he lives alone You can't even get him on the telephone The halibuts eyes turn up and in He don't know where he's going, but he knows where he's been The deep blue sea, the deep blue sea There's a lot to see in the deep blue sea The glass bottom boat, you will agree Can show you the magic of the deep blue sea Spiny crabs and white fish too Will all be there, what a hullabaloo With so many fish upon the sea There's hardly room for a fat sardine The deep blue sea, the deep blue sea There's a lot goin' on in the deep blue sea Oh life on the glass bottom boat is great (I'm the captain) You could use a mate Now the turtle is slow, but not so dumb He has his own condominium A bluebird oyster was caught with "foyle" He "swore" he didn't even know the "goyle" The deep blue sea, the deep blue sea There's a lot to see in the deep blue sea The glass bottom boat, you will agree Can show you the magic of the deep blue sea The flyin' fish was an awful ham Made a three-point landing in a fryin' pan The porpoise has the most chutzpah But the WHALES are ones with the built-in showers STARFISH, STARFISH, TWO-pence all Abelone in the casserole Winding, binding, joining up Is growing, growing, growing up Ahhh... This is my absolute favorite scene from the film. It's also my favorite scene by Doris Day herself. The acting seems so natural and spontaneous. Of course, you mustn't forget that this is a professional job: A movie set, professional actors, a director giving directions, acting to script, cameramen, lighting and sound technicians, etc. Nevertheless, everything seems so completely spontaneous and unforced, as if the actors were simply having a good time. I would really like to know more about the making of this scene. How many takes were necessary? Did the actors really have a good time and were they able to play this scene as freely, spontaneously and naturally as it appears? Or were they really serious about it? Is the relaxedness and light-heartedness pure deception and a facade, so that this is an example of truly great, professional acting?

If it weren't for Doris Day, this would be a painful scene. It's rumored that Doris Day was offered the part of Mrs. Robinson in "The Graduate". Her husband Marty Melcher turned it down without telling her, but she loyally said she wouldn't have taken it anyway. I wish she'd taken that part instead of making this movie.

Understandable but letting Donald Trump Senior or Ron LeSantis loose the meanwhile. I sigh. The Liquid Dater? Make it Sydney Ellen Wade.
