Based on the popular Dork Diaries book series comes the Dork Diaries Not-So-Secret-Truth-Telling Game. The object of the game is to be the first player to reach The Best space or be the last player left when everyone else has moved down to the Totally Wrong space. The game includes a Truth Machine, a game board, 35 game cards with 105 questions, and six movers. It is for two to six players.
To start, each player takes a mover and places it at Start on the board. Then players take turns answering questions. On your turn, the player to your left will pick up a card and read aloud any one of the three questions on it. Some questions let the reader make up their own question by letting them fill in the blank. Questions include "What is your favorite pizza topping?", "Are you good at keeping a secret?", and "Did you ever stick a piece of chewing gum under a chair or table?" After the question has been read, you answer it. After you reply, you can move up one space on the board unless another player challenges your answer.
If a player challenges you, place your finger on the Truth Machine's oval button while the challenger places her finger on the larger button. The challenger repeats the question out loud and you repeat the answer you already gave. Then the challenger removes her finger while you keep your finger on the machine. If the Truth Machine agrees with your answer, a green light will show, and you move ahead two spaces while the challenger moves down two spaces. If the Truth Machine disagrees with your answer, a red light will show, and you move down two spaces while the challenger moves up two spaces. If the Truth Machine doesn't know, a yellow light will show, and you move up one space while the challenger doesn't move.
When a player lands on the Totally Wrong space, she is out of the game. The other players continue playing until one player reaches The Best space or there's only one player left after everyone else has gone down to the Totally Wrong space and is out of the game.
