I’m a current student at Carson-Newman University, and I help run Move-in/Orientation. It makes my heart happy to know you all had a good experience with Move-in Day! I’m super excited for your nephew, and I hope he has many wonderful memories here at CNU! Also, that is the nicest looking boy’s dorm room I’ve seen in Heritage Hall! My fiancé’s room looks nothing like that!😂

Boys want the minimal in their dorms. My son just started Mississippi State and his room is almost exactly like Kaleb’s. He did choose Maroon and white since they are his school colors. But that was it 😆. I bet you all are so proud of both young men! Best of luck to them.

He should use laundry bags that go in the machines. We used them in basic training. They allow you to keep like colors together and you never lose socks/underwear because the bags zip close.

Simple & Neat! Love it! When my son went off to college his freshman year, he didn’t want me doing the most to his room either. But, I did go all out for my daughter’s room!!! 🙌🏽🤣😂😁

Much less overwhelming to move with simple décor, especially when there's a lot of other stuff to focus on. What a lovely university and how helpful were they with unloading all the stuff from the car! Especially since I think you said you were a bit tired - what a God-send! The basketball team locker room looked amazing!!

Zero odor spray is a great way to get rid of stinky shoe smells. I use it in the diaper pail and it removes the odor.

Caleb and Sam both look like they will have an awesome time at uni. They also look like they will both break a lot of hearts along the way too. The whole process is so much more organised than here in Australia where onsite uni accommodation is often very limited and very expensive. The US has it much more suited to young people leaving home for the first time and really making it a wonderful experience for them. Hope they both love it.

Just watched your video in 2020! My nephew will be moving in, in the fall. Your videos have helped my sister with ideas for move in day! I helped move my niece into C-N a couple of years ago. Sadly she didn't stay at that school. But I used your method that I watched a few years ago. This August I helped move another niece into UT-Chattanooga. She thought i was so organized, but the packing ideas came from you. A lot of colleges are using the unload system now.

Really nice job, Nikki! I wish I would've seen this before I sent my son away. I would've definitely used the shoe idea. I use fabric softener sheets in each shoe to keep the space fresh.

There is so much to like in this video! The room is amazing. You have a beautiful family. When my son moved, I made him a small first aid kit, it’s something we don’t always think about in the excitement of moving. And of course this Kentucky girl loves me some B ball!

I really like the set up in this room. Really nice. The clock is amazing and the frilliest thing is probably the desk light or the collapsible boxes on top of the closet. And I say frilly in your framing of masculine perspective. I for one am a straight man who likes colored and pillows. Lol.

I would recommend always washing the sheets first before using direct from packaging. The dorm room came out great! Would love if your SIL did a hair tutorial!

Savannah is so adorable. I just moved my daughter into her dorm a couple of weeks ago. Talk about being exhausted. However, it was fun decorating her dorm. I love that clock. I love the dorm makeover's.

Trust this unasked for advice, Jacqueline. Take ALL the time and enjoy it it along the way. I also have a Caleb...2nd year college...Those baby and younger youth days go by fast. I truly enjoyed them. I believe that by the time your Kaleb gets there...you both will be so glad you spent these younger days together preciously. 😉👶💖👦💗😉
