Another manga by the author of Dorohedoro is called “Dai Dark” it’s a story about a 14 year old boy and his talking skeleton backpack trying to survive in space. They’re being hunted by pretty much everyone in the universe because the protagonist’s bones will grant the wish of whoever claims them. It’s a wacky series, full of skeleton imagery, violence, and wacky characters.

Q hayashida literally carried her manga around with her from place to place on newspapers she had drawn her sketches on, she has a dedication to her manga I haven't seen from most people in a very long time, besides I guess Itagaki.

Dorohedoeo is easily one of my favourite manga. It's not for everyone, and I agree that sometimes it can get a bit too wacky, but overall it's just a ton of fun! Shoutout to the music, as they made a soundtrack for the manga years before the anime was made, and the anime even uses some of that music, sampling abd remixing it. The anime is also a great adaptation, being suprisingly faithful to the gritty style despite being CG. I really hope we get a season 2 one day.

It's one of my favorite manga. I wish we'd get more seasons of it for the anime because it deserves it. But then again, I don't want MAPPA to have any more stress lol maybe another studio can pick it up.

Finished reading dorohedoro about 4 months ago and can confirm it's a very good manga with some fire ass characters and plot points along with some really good mystery aspects on some Jojo part 4 and 5 shit. 8-9/10 manga Ryan you should read Jojo trust me bro🙏

Im very glad you got into Dorohedoro. Its a 10/10 manga for me. I love how dark yet silly it is, but Im kind of the same where too much silly humor can be off putting in a darker story. Even if you dont watch the anime, go check out the intros and outros. They are a lot of fun!

Love this manga with all my being, it’s so funny while still retaining that air of darkness and mystery. All the characters appeal to me in so many different ways and I enjoy how there’s emphasis on both the protagonist group and antagonist group as if they are all main characters in the story. The art, story, and characters have really stuck with me so much so, I go back for a reread at least once a year! Happy you got around to it Ryan even if it’s not necessarily for you. ALL HAIL THE GYOZA! 🥟

I love whacky humour, I’ll actually bump this up and get the first 4 volumes when I’m buying manga again in a few days. This is the first time I’ve seen the art, looks exactly like the anime.

The magic system is very weird, how it works around smoke, the guy that turns everyone into mushrooms is hilarious.

I watched this anime when my house had a power outage during a hurricane about a year ago. I was surprised that there was a world that I might think is worse than Berserk's.

I'm so happy I gave the anime a chance because it started my journey to one of my favourite manga's of all time and Q Hayashida draws some of the coolest and grossest stuff ever. lmao Then the cast is so damn great from Noi who's best girl to Shin with En and the whole family plus Caiman with Nikaido such an awesome duo. Not to mention there's another manga out there rn called Dai Dark by Q too definitely recommend 👌

Pretty fair review man. Dorohedoro is my personal favorite manga. I love pretty much all of the characters in the manga and I just love the horror asthetic of it all. Speaking of that, if you just love the art of Dorohedoro then I recommend getting the mud and sludge art book for Dorohedoro. The anime on the other hand is a different matter. Most people drop the anime because the characters are all done in cgi and I sadly get why. The cgi makes fight scenes look slow and has a choppy framerate. But most of the shows backgrounds are done in 2d and are beautiful. Plus the music in the show is so fun and cool. I would recommend the anime to more people but sadly mappa has better things to do then dorohedoro so we won't see it continue. Ps noi is best girl BTW.

For fans of the anime, Dorohedoro season 2 just got announced. No timeline for release yet. Anime news network has an article about it. The source for the article is the official dorohedoro website, so it seems legit. Definitely keeping my fingers crossed that it'll be made eventually

I really liked this manga. I hope the anime comes back, season 1 was very good if not for some cuts and weird CGI every now and then. DOROHEDORO is a great manga especially on the first read, but like any story that solely focus on a big mistery, once it is revealed the story loses a lot of alure on a reread. But the world is fantastic as are the characters and I wish Q Hayashida would return to this universe for a new long running arc, maybe to explore the creator of the Hole and humans and how Chidaruma grows and hopefully evolves now without his powers. xD

Dorohedoro top ten favorite manga. The story got a little overly complicated towards the end but characters are awesome and world building is amazing.

Dark, wacky and wholesome. You too pal, you too. BUT not a child. Not any more. Meaning now you can defend yourself. Meaning the only saviour you need or you will ever encounter now it's you yourself. Of course sometimes you will still need some external support but you already have it and will have it (followers, neon mother, godo's flame, etc.). With or without any magician.

Nikaido is best Q hayashida made a manga adaptation for the game Maken X or Maken Shao. The people behind the game also made the Shin Megami Tensei series. A JRPG series who focuses on gods demons magic and the occult. The mobile game Dx2 allows you to summon both Guts Berserk and Dante from Devil may cry.

I used to feel sad once, then I watched Yoke Samoa’s end scene in Gundam and felt much happier.

I got 16 chapters in and it didn't grab me, but I'll give it another chance. Maybe watching the anime will help.

You made this video a few days after I finished it, pretty neat. Honestly, it started to fall apart a bit before Enn died in my opinion. I had dropped it back in 2020 around chapter 30 simply because I didn't have the time for it but it didn't stick with me much, I decided to pick it back up around November 2023 and finished it all the way. It was alright, not my favorite in any department but it was serviceable, although character deaths lost most meaning besides a few by the end.

What fustrates me about the ending is that you feel like nothing really changed or evolved about the characters, you could almost put the final chapter whenever you want in the story when Caiman and Nikaido are together. Their relationship isn't different, its just 'i think you like my gyoza too much' and then Caiman finally makes his own gyoza. If you want to see what happens with relationships in this manga, its a waste of time, so pay only attention to characters backstories.
