OH could she dance! Just loved her always. Never given her due. But she had a life to be proud of. Thank You, Dorothy!

I always loved Dorothy in the Roaring 20's and often dreamed of growing up to be just like her. I had several women in the 60's who inspired me but remember her as one of the true icons of that era.

Underrated performer. Pretty much forgotten today, sadly. But thanks to youtube, she can be appreciated again.

When I was a little girl, I watched the movie "The Great Race" and was amazed by the performance of the song "He shouldn't-a, Oughtn't-a ..." and the appearance of the actress Dorothy Provine - since then I dreamed of being like her. She was a true and great actress! R.I.P. Dorothy

She was born in Deadwood, So. Dakota. I thought only cowboys came from there and not a gorgeoous blonde. RIP Dorothy.

I'm positive she did. She used to do it at the beginning of the show, and my sisters and I used to try to dance like her.

I will try and find something out for you, my mother-in-law is Dorothy's sister. My Mother -in-law Patty looks and sounds like her sister Dorothy. I use to work Nite shifts and when I came home, to relax I would watch a little TV as I was flipping thru the channels I heard what I thought was my mom -in-laws voice. Nope old black & White Bonnie & Clyde movie with Dorothy in it. That's how much they sounded alike.

Hi...and thanks for your comments. There is now a CD of both Dorothy's 'Roaring 20s' Warner Bros LPs it's on SEPIA RECORDS # SEPIA 1180, both LPs have been remastered and in stereo (don't get the HALLMARK CD version - it's in mono and not good transfers). I hope to upload some tracks from Dorothy's 'Oh You Kid' album soon.

She sure was a good looking girl, and if she found the money under the big W she was going to run away to a convent..

I also remember watching Dorothy in the Roaring Twenties. Morganafan, do you have any scenes of her performing the theme for the TV show?
@morganafan11 жыл бұрын
Hi...Sorry to say I don't have Dorothy performing the theme from 'The Roaring 20s' - I'm not sure if she ever did - does anybody else know?
