Working with Stand Up to Racism Dorset on the CARICOM Reparations Commission campaign in the Caribbean, the Tolpuddle Martyrs Festival and TUC join forces to call for reparative justice for the genocide and for the enslavement of African people in Barbados.
James Drax pioneered the use of African slaves on plantations in Barbados. His descendant is now the MP for Dorset South and has inherited the massive Drax Estates in Dorset and Barbados and the fortune that was generated by slavery.
In this multi-way discussion with LIVE streams from the march and rally in Dorset, we invite speakers to talk about the importance of slavery justice and why the legacy of the Tolpuddle Martyrs and unions are linked.
